Q: Can you really machine wash it? In a home machine? Or is it too big?

A: Hi, this is Grace with nuLOOM! Thank you for your inquiry. I'm sorry, this rug is not machine washable. Here are some helpful tips for cleaning and maintaining your shag rug: Prior to vacuuming, turn the rug face down and gently shake it out to dislodge any dirt that may have gotten trapped deep within the fibers. Using a suction only attachment, vacuum in between individual rows on your rug. Regular combing is also recommended; you can use a carpet rake or a regular wide-toothed comb. Spot cleaning: Spills must be blotted immediately using a clean white cloth. Do not rub. Allowing a spill to set will make the stain more difficult to clean later, and rubbing can force the stain deeper into your rug's surface. Once you have finished cleaning the area, use clean, dry towels to wick away all moisture. Apart from regular home upkeep, we strongly recommend professional cleaning. To keep your rugs looking fresh, they should be brought to a reputable cleaner at least once a year.

Great colors for my upscale beachy family room. This rug is thick and soft, not shedding at least thus far, and great to sit on (with a thick pad added for extra softness.) You could get away with a flatter pad but the point of a shag rug is fluffy coziness, right?
Color is beautiful. Wears terrible.

I still love this rug. I bought it two years ago . I didn’t want to replace it so soon BUT it is flat in any areas of any use. It looks 5 + years old. It matches my decor so well . I would NOT recommend this rug because it doesn’t last in any traffic areas.

This rug was perfect! looked exactly like the picture shown, and fit the room to a T. I bought it for my mothers den - she was out of town for a few days so I wanted it to be a surprise. It was a great success. The other huge plus was the extremely fast delivery. I ordered it, and it was on the doorstep three days later.

Was quite disappointed with this one. Not sure if the different color choices for this item are made at different locations or what, but we have enjoyed a beige multi-striped for the last three years. This year, we decided to order a blue multi-striped one. We never even took it out of the packaging! Simply cut back the plastic about a foot and examined it. The backing on this rug was completely different from our previous rug, and the weight of the pile was so thin I could easily push my fingers into the backing. Extremely disappointed. Not sure if this rug is made by another manufacturer now or what, but we had to return it.

Don’t buy it. Color was perfect, loved the look. It didn’t matter. A day after I put it down then entire room started to smell of strange almost melted synthetic/plastic. I can’t even put in to words how awful the smell was. I had someone come to service window coverings in the room and they were gagging and couldn’t do it. Both sides smelled absolutely terrible. I tried airing out the room, air purifiers. I have a house full of rugs this has never happened before.

I thoroughly enjoyed using the website to place the rugs I was looking at in the existing room. I ordered with ease and the rugs arrived so quickly. It looked beautiful in my room. Unfortunately I’ve had it for 3 weeks and there are strings already pulling through the middle of the rug. Disappointed to say the least.
