Absolutely terrible. Not nearly enough icing to cover the cake. The cake is weirdly spongy.

Decided to write a review based on how many mixed reviews there were. My kids and I made this for my husbands birthday. We followed the directions accordingly and it turned out great! I used 2-9 inch round pans and I was skeptical because it didn’t seem to fill the pans much(like barely filled out each pan, but while baking they rose quite a bit. It tastes great too! Was a huge hit!

I bought this for my sons 8th birthday as a little treat for a few friends. The cake sank in the middle and has an odd angel food-like texture. And all of us who ate the cake got an upset stomach. I don't know if the mix was expired or what, but it has been an extremely unpleasant experience. I'll think twice before using Duncan Hines again.

My kids and I loved the flavor of this cake! The breading, the icing and the cereal toppings. The cereal was a bit stale however it cooked very nicely and didn't impact the cake at all! The cake came out moist and delicious! Would definitely buy again!

The box photo on front cuts off the fact that there isn't enough frosting to cover the sides of the cake. Also, I had to buy two boxes to make a two layer cake using 9" circular pans. Cake was yummy and I used all four packages in the center layer and 1.5 cans of strawberry frosting on the outside. While I could have technically covered the cake with the frosting provided, I would descibe the amount included as stingy. Cake baked well and is fluffy and moist - even after substituting the eggs for chickpea water for a guest that is allergic to eggs.

One box isn’t enough for a layered crake. You will need at least two boxes. The icing is terrible, and tasted like chemicals. We tossed it and make homemade icing. I should have made the whole cake homemade. This was a total waste. I would not recommend this mix.

I bought this kit because it came with everything you need in one pack and it was cute and colorful. I did a few "hacks" to try and make this cake a little more "homemade" and even though I'm pretty sure I messed up the hacks, the cake was very forgiving and still tasted good. The icing has a strong Fruit Pebbles flavor, if you're into that. I probably won't buy again since I'm a single-person household and can't get through a whole cake by myself, but if you're a family this would be perfect for at-home celebrations.

The pics are deceptive. I made the entire mix in a spring board pan. And it was enough for 1 layer (and that was thin). It would take 2 or 3 to make anything even close to the box. But the flavor was spot on.

You can't go wrong with this cake. This mix is spot on with Fruity Pebbles flavor and came out super moist! I opted to make this into cupcakes and used the entire packet of cereal in the mix, because I already had a box of Fruity Pebbles in the pantry to use as part of my topping. It is a bit on the sweeter side, but it's well worth it. This Fruity Pebbles mix is also a pretty fun addition to any kids or even adult parties. If you want something to bring you straight back to your childhood, this is it. For anyone whose mix doesn't come out correctly, please try it again. The directions are simple and clear.
