I’m mainly a scratch baker, but when I’m sort for time I’ve always used DH boxed mixes, and French Vanilla has always been my go to. However, I baked one today and it not only sank in the oven, it completely collapsed! I checked the date on the box and it was well into 2024, so I prepared another box, put it in the oven, and it completely collapsed again! I won’t buy it again…something has been changed and not for the better.

I've been eating Duncan Hines cakes since I was a small child in the 1960s. My mother insisted that DH was the best brand, and the results sure where good. I've been baking my own DH cakes for decades, and the French Vanilla was a favorite, until now. The Signature Series is very disappointing. The cake has a coarse crumb, is spongy and tough, and doesn't rise as much as the old brand. Bring back the original recipe. The new one is poor quality.

I've been baking w/Duncan Hines cake mixes since they hit the shelves "back in the day". Why would you "reformulate" the ingredients of what I now call the NOT "Perfectly Moist French Vanilla /Cake Mix". The taste is "off" and does not rise to the occasion. Out of ALL the mixes, and some I have to buy online because they are not carried in stores where I live, this is the ONLY one that IS an epic fail. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. New and improved and not always improved - but only improves your profits.

Made my standard gooey butter cake with this mix like I normally do and it was pure trash. Gooey butter cake has way too many calories to enjoy frequently so it's been a year since I last made it with this mix, but it was immediately evident that something wasn't right. I had to run back to the store and get Betty Crocker Vanilla cake mix and redo it over again - but at least it doesn't taste weird!

Seems like no one likes this cake mix - I did. I thought it tasted pretty good. The only change I made was in place of the oil I used 2/3 cup melted butter and I added 2 tsp vanilla extract. Baked perfectly, the cake was moist and the texture was soft and velvety. Try it.

Formula has changed and it now has a different taste and texture. Shame on Conagra. Company profits are WAY up while quality on classic brands is WAY down.

This used to be the best of all the brands. It was my go-to cake mix. Unfortunately, the mix was changed and is not good. So disappointing. I won't purchase it again.

I’ve been using your mixes for 15+ years for my wedding and event cake business. I just had a client request a refund because their cake tasted weird. When I tried the scarps from her cake, to my surprise, it did! This is how I make a living. Change it back PLEASE before I lose my business.

Hello, it would be very good to know if you add hoe big is the cup of the water . How much water need to add on ml. Cups can be different. I think , I used the standard water cup and messed up all . Cake was oily :(

My family loved this cake when made according to the original instructions which called for softened butter rather than oil. I can't recall how much butter was in the original directions. If I use the current mix and add butter, how much should I add? I also miss the vanilla bean flecks in the mix. Please advise.

I bought this to make cupcakes for Easter. I have always used this and everyone always loved the, Well, made them today and they were awful! It didn’t taste the same and it had an oatmeal color. I had picked up two boxes when I purchased it - threw the other one away. Why change something that works and tastes so good?

recently bought the Duncan Hines super moist French vanilla cake mix, it was super easy to make and tasted great. I followed the directions and I have one complaint; it falls apart and just crumbles when you cut it. Should I have cooked it longer than what the box said?

I always used this mix for my strawberry short cake and jelly rolls. Today I have about 10 ladies over for lunch. The jelly roll came out awful. Thanks for changing the mix. Not at all good any more. I will just make my stuu from scratch.
