We loved this fan for four months. It was definitely quiet, and performed well. Then it died.
We really expected a much longer life for such an expensive fan. Certainly can't recommend it.

Was very skeptical about purchasing this fan considering how much it cost. Needless to say, I bit the bullet and put up the several hundred dollars. I only have two issues with it. #1 I am in the US and the fan displays in Celsius and not Fahrenheit. #2 Fan doesn't seem to reach a great distance. You almost have to be directly in front of it in order to feel the fan or heater.

Hello Niko, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson AM09 does have two modes of airflow, a diffused mode for whole room use, as well as a focused mode for personal use. Depending on the mode being used, will determine how strong the airflow feels and how the heat or cool air will blow out of your machine. Jet focus controls will be outlined with a narrow or wide airflow mode and your unit will also display this in the display window when you select between the two. The light amount of air you feel when your unit is first set to the heating mode will be your machine allowing air to flow through the machine as it reads the temperature. Once it reads the temperature below what it is set to, it will at that point turn on fully and blow stronger air. If it is set to oscillate before it went into this standby sort of mode, it will at that point begin to oscillate as well. I was EXTREMELY excited about this product. I'm a huge fan of Dyson products. It's very nice and sleek and thought it'd be worth the price. However, after giving it a try for a few days, I realized it was very disappointing.
I use this for my bedroom and thought I'd get a multi-purpose product (heater and fan). Heater was OKAY; it gets the job done. However, the fan functionality was such a disappointment. The air flow was so weak, I could not feel it unless I was 2-feet or closer to the fan itself. My older blade fan was much stronger than this and much cheaper.
I've decided to return this item.

We received this fan as a X-mas gift, loved it when it worked. Then it just stopped working. We made a call into Dyson, and they provided us with an RMA to return and they will ship us a new unit. Received the new unit right away, which was good. But the one we received was refurbish (very dirty), and we did not get a remote with it. Called into Dyson again, advised them that the replacement unit we received was dirty (ours that we returned was in brand new condition) and missing the remote. He advised us the they only ship out refurbish units, and he will send a remote. If I would have knowing this, I would not have spent this much money on a fan like this.

I absolutely love this! I bought it for my bathroom to warm it up in the mornings. It warms the room fast, has great output and I love the timer. I also used it after washing my carpets and I’ll turn it on when I hang clothes to dry on the shower rod. If you’re like me and other room heaters kinda scare you because they look like they’re either going to burn you or burn the place down... this is the one for you ;) I turn it on, set it at 99, then turn the timer on and I don’t have to worry. Overall I am super happy with this fan. It’s cute, it does what I want, it’s farily quiet and does a great job. I will use the cooling side for a fan this summer maybe along with the Air Conditioner. The trick is to get the fan near enough to the cool outflow from the AC unit for those saying it doesn’t work. I’ve done it with a variety of fans and it works-promise.
I have a $70 heater which is quieter and the air is hotter. This is an extremely overpriced product that it’s only advantage over competitors with significantly lower price tags is the look. Really disappointing. I returned mine after using it for one day.

Dyson heater is amazing. My house stays warm with the exception of my bedroom. Used the heater for the first time and it kept me perfectly warm even on a lower setting by using one the directional heat setting. With the cold we're experiencing, the cost of the heater was worth every penny!
