Not worth the Money. I have owned over 5 Dyson's Vacuums. The first worked great for about 3 years. Replaced with other one, that one lasted about the same. They all work great at the beginning. 2 years down the road they start to lose there suction. Than they start to break down. I figured due to age. My husband was so sick of buying Dyson's vacuums when they don't last more then 3 years. We purchased this yellow one. It sucks vacuuming on carpets. The roller will stop rotating and you have to keep pressing the button. The vacuum works great on vinyl. Needing for carpets pass on this vacuum cleaner. Would not recommend for hard floors afraid roller would ruin hardwood. I'm in the processing of looking for another vacuum after only having this one for 1 year. Sorry Dyson you lost me has a customer, for your product doesn't hold up to it's name. Two stars for working on vinyl.

Hi there, this is Kelly with dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2. It would be unusual to hear your machine is losing suction, with proper maintenance of the filters, cyclone and brush bar area of the machine. Typically a lack of suction can be caused by dirty filters or a blockage some place within the machine, causing a loss of airflow. With regard to using your machine on hard flooring, the brush bar on our upright machines can be disabled, so you're vacuuming with just suction power, no spinning brush. We can also confirm that if the brush bar is stopping while you're vacuuming on carpeting, the brush bar may be sensing the carpet fibers as an obstruction, which causes the brush bar motor to shut down, to prevent itself from overheating. I am happy to let you know that most problems may be resolved through simple, yet effective troubleshooting at home. We'd value the opportunity to learn more about your experience with your Dyson, and to provide you with support. Please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. It will be our pleasure to provide support once we have received your correspondence. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
I chose the Multi-Floor 2 after reading reviews for Vacuums for homes with pets and seeing a Q&A where a Dyson rep said that this was the same unit as the Animla 2 except it is yellow and doesn't have the turbine accessory.
I will grant that it has strong suction, i just wish the rest of it was as well designed as the vacuum motor.
1) Power head flops down every time you try to tilt it bask to roll it from room to room.
2) On carpets (normal pile 4 yrs old) the powerhead keeps losing power and you have to tip it into the handle up position to get it to restart.
3) In spite of the suction, the powerhead gets debris in large quantities wrapped around the roller. I had to remove the footplate and manually remove the debris after vacuuming about 80 Sq Ft in my bedroom.

Hello KH, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review. I can confirm that the Multi Floor 2 is very similar to the Animal 2, however it will have slightly less suction power; 245 air watts, when compared to the suction of the Animal 2, which is 270 air watts. Dyson Ball vacuum cleaners operate with a quick recline feature. This will avoid the need for pedals or stepping on the front of the machine as with our non-ball models. Rolling the unit around from room to room is recommended to be done with the ball instead of the stabilizer wheels on the back of the ball. You can then put the unit upright once you are done with cleaning and for storage. H We wouldn't expect the machine to shut off, while you're vacuuming carpeting. If the brush bar is no longer spinning, that could indicate that your cleaner head is sensing the thicker carpeting as an obstruction, which will shut off the brush bar to prevent the motor from overheating. If the entire machine shuts down, that could suggest a thermal cutout, which is another self-protection feature, again to prevent overheating. While we don't expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 5-year guarantee. We would value the opportunity to assist you, to help ensure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are keen on providing you with support and learning more about your experience. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
My first dyson purchase and I literally use this for entire apartment with 3 boys in my apartment there’s always constant cleaning needing to be done and I must say I’ve never been more impressed and happy with my vacuum. I’m planning on buying my mother one for her birthday.
Best vacuum I’ve ever owned. Sucks up every little piece of trash or dirt on the carpet. Fluffs up the carpet to make it look and feel like new again. So amazing. Can’t believe I waited this long to own a Dyson.
I was hesitant about getting this after a number of bad reviews but I am so glad I bought it. It was easy to put together, has a very long cord and works amazing. Such great suction! I had to troubleshoot a few things as I went but there were good instructions, you just have to take the time to read the whole thing. I am not disappointed at all.
