Description

The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball canister features Dyson Cinetic™ science, our biggest technological breakthrough since we invented cyclonic vacuum cleaners. The vacuum is engineered to solve the problem of filters clogging and losing suction. It’s the only vacuum cleaner with strong constant suction and no dirty bags or filters to wash or replace.

The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball canister vacuum features monostatic, self-righting technology. The vacuum lies on a single stable resting point assembled in a spherical array. With the heaviest components near the floor, and a curved body with a low center of gravity, whenever the vacuum is displaced from its resting position, gravitational force will automatically return it upright. Or more simply, when it’s knocked over, it gets back up.

The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball canister vacuum features a new bin emptying mechanism. You can hygienically drive out trapped dust and debris with just the push of a button. There’s no need to touch the dirt. While cleaning, an articulated handle rotates in three directions allowing 360° articulation for easy, versatile and greater control – all around the home, from floors to furniture to even high corners.

Includes a 5 year warranty covering parts and labor.

This is my second vacuum purchase from Dyson. My first was an upright model, which I thought was great! Ended up giving it to my parents to use and bought this model since we got a dog. I’ve been using this new cinetic big ball animal vacuum for about a year and a half and am still disappointed in it. There are some PROS to this model: great at picking up my dogs fur from the carpet and the many attachments included. But the CONS make it a fail for me: it’s quite difficult to drag over carpet and the canister lid tends to fall open when I go to dump the contents. There have been one too many times when I go to empty the canister and as soon as I disconnect it from the vacuum, it falls open and all the contents fall all over my floor and vacuum cleaner. I always make sure the lid is closed properly, but the little clip just doesn’t hold at all. I don’t like to use my vacuum anymore because of these cons. I definitely should have gone with my first choice... the cordless vacuum.

Not great for pet hair

I bought this a few months ago, I love Dyson I had the v10 which I repacked because I need something that I could use to clean my whole house instead of 1 room. The vacuum is great I love the look and design. I absolutely hate that the dog hair sticks on the outside of the machine instead of being sucked up. I hate that I need an adapter for the attachments.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review. I am happy to hear that you've been pleased, thus far in your use, with the powerful suction and pick up from your Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal canister vacuum. It would be unusual to hear that you're finding debris such as pet hair sticking to the outside of the vacuum. With regard to your attachments, your machine features our quick-release connection. Some older tools we carry will have the gray tab and those tools would require an adaptor. Any tool or attachment with the red tab will attach without the need for an adaptor. While we never expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 5-year guarantee. We would value the opportunity to assist you, to help ensure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are keen on providing you with support and learning more about your experience. Best wishes, Kelly

My biggest complaint is that the cord is too short. I have to stop vacuuming and re-plug the vacuum four times just to do my upstairs living area. Plus it is not recommended to use an extension cord with this machine. Next, it takes quite a bit of effort to move the carpet attachment back and forth over the carpet. My old DC Animal upright made it a snap to vacuum. Finally, The dirt bin is a pain in the rear. It opens easily but to get it to close back up is a real pain since it doesn't want to re-latch. For the money we spent it isn't worth it. My old Dyson animal upright is on it's last legs and I was looking at the big ball Animal without filters. However I am concerned by the reviews that complained about cheap breakable plastic parts and hose issues.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal canister features a 21' long cord, and combined with the extendable hose, 35' of reach. Also, the wand releases instantly and stretches to 50 inches, to access high places. The carbon fiber turbine floor tool has carbon fiber filaments to pick up fine dust from your hard floors, and stiff nylon bristles to help remove ground-in dirt from deep within carpet fibers. We're sorry to learn that vacuuming your carpeting has been difficult. We wouldn't expect that to occur. We're always keen to assist with any issues you may be experiencing, and to help support this effort, we do include our contact details directly on our machines, make ourselves available via live chat on our website as well as offer 24-hour email support. Also, as a reminder, Dyson does back all new machines from an authorized retailer with a free 5-year guarantee. Please feel free to email us directly at askdysonnUS@dyson.com, we look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

I had my Dyson for some time now. With four dogs and a long hair cat. The Dyson vacums amazingly. I have saved enough money not having to pay bags and belts to pay for it. The wood floor attachment works great. I can even use it on the walls without scratching them. I would have given it a 5 except for one problem. The front of the canister has a small design flaw. It hangs up on everythibg, every corner, chair leg, or item in the house. You have to watch it.

Been using for two years now. PROS Great Suction. Tangle Free Tool is great for removing dog hair. CONS. The turbine brush slings dirt and debris everywhere. My opinion is that it spins too fast. A slower brush with higher torque and brushes that grab would be better. The clip on the canister door never holds. Can’t tell you how many times it’s opened upon removal and dumped its contents all over the floor. You have to remember to hold it closed the entire trip to the trash.

Hello, This is Miella from Dyson. Thank you for your review. The machine does have a brushbar control button that allows you to trigger the brushbar on/off to your preference, especially if using on hard flooring. It's also very peculiar that your bin lid is not staying closed. While we do recommend pushing the bin closed until you see the latch connect properly, it's very odd that it's still loosened. We'd value the opportunity to learn more about your experience with your Dyson as we'd like to help ensure you are having a 5-star experience. Please feel free to reach out to us at askdysonUS@dyson.com, and we will be in touch. Best Wishes, Miella Dyson Customer Support

We love your Dyson. Deep cleans and has wonderful suction. The only issue we have with it is that when we are vacuuming at the top of the wand where it rotates, if our wrist is too close to it it pinches very badly that it leaves marks on our skin. We don’t know how that can be fixed in this model or if it’s just us that this happens too.

I am using model CY22 cinetic big ball (bought in asia 2019) for 1 month plus, overall everything was fine. Accept the model that was launch in asia did not have some of the "additional tool" an example would be stiff bristle brush, flat out floor tool, multi-angle brush etc. And to use the additional tool you need an additional attachment which can be quite tedious to change in between the cleaning and because of the attachment the length, it will extend longer which can be too long for an add-on tools like reach under tool..with the wand handle attached with combination tool can be quite long also and sometimes hard to maneuver as we will be in an awkward distance. Aside from the tooling, i find that the electronic cord is slightly shorter it would be good if it is extended longer.. Because of the hose ergonomics with the hose located at the bottom & wand handle + combination tool sometime it is hard to clean area at chest, stomach, or head level because of the hose length and wand handle the distance is a bit awkward when vaccuming. I think anyone who is using this model can relate to this especially trying to vacuum a cabinet at chest height sometimes you may need to even lift up the vacuum...to reach for the area there are times you may also need to detached the wand handle shorter to easy maneuver.. Interchanging of heads is easy but not at ease because when you were to change to another head for a short period of time the turbine head will roll off and drop to the ground even when it is lean against the wall...this can be improve further...it would be good if it can be lean against the wall without falling off Emptying of bin is easy but there will still be bit of dust accumilating outside the canister lid and entry point which may be clean with a wet tissue...occasionally you may need to dig out stuck dirt, threads or hairs even after emptying your bin...i find it is still alright mimimum cleaning..not to troublesome on this.. Overall everything was good accept on the ergonomics and meneuvering at different height level was not very pleasant...but other than that it definitely won a place among other brands in the market...especially on suction power and zero cleaning needed...hope this helps

Some Good Features, Some Not So Good Features

I've had this vacuum for seven months so I've had the chance to use it extensively before writing this review. We have one short-haired dog and no children. This is my third Dyson, the other two being upright animal vacuums. Pros Excellent suction Many attachments (although none attach to vacuum for easy access) Rotation of head makes it easy to vacuum corners and angled areas Fairly lightweight for lifting/carrying if required Stays upright Cons I'm 5'2" and the wand is way too short for me so I must bend over a lot to extend my vacuum reach very far, which is back-aching None of the routinely used attachments attach to vacuum for easy access When releasing canister it's too easy to inadvertently push red lever on handle that opens canister and release content on floor Small canister that doesn't always close tightly after emptying content Costly considering cons Summary I prefer the uprights to this canister model and fortunately still have one of my uprights that I use more often.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to write your review on the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal canister vacuum. I'm happy to hear how pleased you have been with the suction power and variety of attachments that come with the vacuum. Dyson Cinetic machines are our first machines to feature no filters to wash or replace, thanks to the oscillating Dyson Cinetic tips located in the cyclone pack. It sounds very unusual that you haven't been able to use your tools and attachments, directly on the machine. The quick-release tools feature attach and remove with one click to be easily changed out. This model also has a long-reach wand, which releases instantly and stretches to 50 inches, to easily reach high places. The issues you are experiencing sound rather unusual, and we would value the opportunity to go over it with you to help ensure that your machine is performing as intended. Please consider reaching out to us directly at askdysonus@dyson.com. We're always keen on providing support. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
