Hate the V16...but there is more!
We have upgraded from the V10 to the V11 and now, the V16. We've witnessed the improvements made in each model upgrade where I hate the V16! I hate it as it shows everything the prior models missed while vacuuming! The green fluorescent front light is a game changer where it shows everything that is on the floor that you can not see with your naked eyes! Love the cannister compactor with it's easy to dump function and the "auto" setting is the answer for the transition from flat floors to carpet. The V16 is by far the best Dyson stick vacuum we have ever owned and you too will love to hate it.

Pro's and Con's - Overall great machine
Purchased V16 Piston Animal. Pros: Large dust/dirt capacity Adjustable suction Display of available run time Previously had Dyson V8 - Thoroughly ecstatic no longer having to hold the button for machine to continuously run. Cons Can't use fiber optic head and vacuum under furniture due to a larger/longer vacuum head. The fiber head doesn't allow a side tilt to use. Only an up and down movement. Can't use floor cone cleaner head and vacuum under furniture as it has height because of the illuminated light. Overall, I love Dyson and would recommend to anyone looking to treat themselves!

Comparing V15-V16
Having both Dyson V15 and V16 I prefer the V15 with its brushes over the soft foam brush. I do like the V16 green light for cleaning however I wish it would stay on while using all 3 power modes.

Great vacuum
I bought the Dyson V16 primarily for my bedroom carpets. I am 77 years old and had trouble pushing my normal vacuum through my carpeted areas. It was much easier with Dyson V16. It is a little heavy at the top, but I can manage ok. Its suction is very good. Used the vacuum on my hardwood floors and love the light guiding my way. Run time is 60 minutes, so I’m able to finish all floors on the mail level.

Where’s the suck?
This is probably our seventh Dyson vacuum cleaner. And by far the worst one I’ve ever owned. It is not a good performing vacuum compared to the V 15 or the GEN 5. In fact, this new head does not work well at all on any of the surfaces in our home. The suction seems to be less than the other two and unless I run it on boost, which means I can only use the thing for seven minute, I have to spend three times as much time vacuuming to get everything up. I do like the light on it, however, that’s not enough to justify the thousand dollar cost and lack of performance.

Sees The Dirt You Can’t See!!
I was happy to receive the Dyson V16 Piston Animal Cordless Vacuum. The vacuum is one of their most powerful cordless vacuums. It has a 70 minute run time. I can vacuum my whole house and the battery has 65% power left!! Since it has a long runtime the battery is a little heavy. The vacuum connects via bluetooth. You can connect it to the Dyson app. You can adjust the illumination and the brush speed settings. The vacuum is tall so you can vacuum comfortably. It has many attachments. A crevice tool a fluffy tool-perfect for floors. It also has a motorized attachment capable of picking up long hair without tangling. It is perfect for carpets. There is also a similar smaller attachment like this perfect for steps and upholstery. The dust bin is large and you can compress the dirt so you can continue vacuuming. You can release the dust bin without having to touch the dirt. Best of all is the optic illumination. This is something I really need. My house tends to be dark because of the brick and the wood. This feature helps illuminate the floor so I can see the dirt better. It really shows you the dirt you can’t see with the naked eye!! It has a washable Hepa filter. It is fairly easy to maneuver and Dyson is making more attachments for this vacuum like a flexible crevice tool perfect for cleaning under furniture. I recommend this vacuum for the power the light to see the dirt and various attachments.

Not worth the money.
Save your money and get the V8 or 12. This vacuum doesn’t do any better than the others, which are great but this is way overpriced.

Lost Cause
I bought the V16 as a replacement of my outsize. The only thing i liked was the the combining of dust and it stayed on with push of a button.. The cost of the vacuum does live up the performance. I returned and now have the V15 and it so much better.

This does a great job of suctioning, but it’s so heavy and clunky that it’s more of a challenge to remove the gunk than earlier models. I have to remove the head, and then try a few times.

The best vacuum i’ve ever owned

I’ve been looking for a vacuum that checks all the boxes, and this one was perfect for what I needed. The anti-tangle attachment for vacuuming on all floor types works so well with my pets’ hair, and I love not having to untangle it every time I vacuum. The attachment for cleaning pet beds, couches, and more is amazing because it takes me no time at all to clean up cat hair on the couch before guests arrive. It’s also on the quieter side, so it doesn’t scare my cats, which is a huge added bonus. The best part is the compactor compartment for dust and debris, allowing you to vacuum without having to empty it for up to 30 days. I can’t even think of a flaw on this new design

I have an older model of the vacuum that I purchased a couple years ago and this new model knocks it out of the water. Just when I thought my house was clean, I used this new vacuum with the laser light and it proved me wrong. I love the new feature where you don’t have to bend down to detach the attachments and I also love that you can compact the dirt and dust so you don’t have to empty it as often. The little details make the world of a difference when you have to vacuum everyday!!! gifted by Dyson But I would purchase this on my own!

After testing it in my home, I’m very impressed with its performance. The suction power is strong and it easily picks up dust, dirt, and pet hair. My favorite feature is the Fluffy Optic cleaner head with the green light. I thought my floors were clean, but it revealed so much hidden dust and pet hair that I couldn’t see with normal lighting. I honestly didn’t realize there was that much pet hair in my home! The vacuum comes with three useful cleaner heads. I use the All Floor Cones cleaner head on carpets and soft surfaces, and it does a great job picking up hair without tangling. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head is perfect for hard floors and helps me spot every bit of dust. The Hair Screw Tool is compact and amazing for furniture. It quickly removes pet hair from sofas and cushions thanks to its anti-tangle design. The battery life is excellent. My regular cleaning routine takes about an hour, and one full charge is more than enough to clean my entire home. The vacuum is easy to use and makes cleaning much faster. Overall, I’m very happy with the Dyson V16 Piston Animal. It is definitely the best cordless vacuum I have ever tried, and I would especially recommend it to pet owners

Since it’s cordless, it’s very easy to move around the house, and I love how lightweight and convenient it feels while using it. It’s not too heavy, so I can easily hold and use it with one hand. The suction power is incredibly strong, especially on rugs, upholstery and hard floors. It picks up dust, hair and small debris very quickly without needing multiple passes. I have long hair and a dog with long fur, so dealing with hair around the house is a constant challenge, but this vacuum handles it really well. A huge help for daily cleaning
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Dyson vacuum a few weeks ago and have been using it almost every day. It’s very easy to use and has really strong suction. I have long hair, we have a cat, and a one-year-old who is always dropping food on the floor, so there’s always something to clean. The vacuum does a great job picking up hair, fur, dust, and crumbs. My favorite feature is the light on the cleaner head that shows dust and dirt on the floor. I honestly didn’t think my floors were that dirty until I saw everything lit up! I also love that the brush head helps prevent hair from getting tangled, which is a huge plus in our home. It feels a little heavier than I expected, but I got used to it quickly. The noise level is also very reasonable and quieter than I expected for such a powerful vacuum. We mostly use the smaller attachment because it’s lighter and easier to maneuver, but the larger one is great for deeper cleaning. The battery life has been more than enough for our regular cleaning sessions. My husband is especially happy with this vacuum because he does most of the cleaning and says it makes the job much easier. So far, I’m really happy with it and would definitely recommend it.
