Q: Cordless Dyson V12 shows only a 1Gallon capacity while cordless Dyson V8 shows a 14Gallon capacity, neither mention the actual engine size. Why does the smaller V8 hold more debris than the V12?

Q: How does this vacuum (Dyson V12) do with cleaning up kitty litter? Will it cause any damage to the vacuum if used regularily in rooms that may have kitty litter on carpet?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Now, this is a great cordless vacuum cleaner! Quiet, easy to maneuver, lightweight, has all the attachments, and a two-year warranty to boot. I’m not sure about the battery life yet, because there is an auto mode that adjusts to the amount of dirt and dust being cleaned, versus eco mode that cleans but not as deeply (but runs longer). There is a meter that shows remaining run time and the amount and type of dirt being cleaned. I like not having to constantly hold the trigger too. There are two full-size brush attachments, one for hard floors and one for carpet. The one for hard floors looks safe for expensive flooring and has a special light the illuminates dust so you don’t miss any. Thoughtful. This machine deserves your consideration, I recommend!

It’s lightweight, yet it packs some serious power. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head is Amazing!!!!, it lights up the floor as you clean, so you can see the dust you might normally miss, especially in low-light areas. It’s like the vacuum shows me where to focus, making cleaning feel way more thorough. The De-tangling Motorbar is another feature I didn’t know I needed until I used it. With my cat and his shedding hair around, I always pulled hair out of my old vacuum brush, but this one does it automatically as you clean. The filtration system is a huge bonus; it captures all microscopic particles and allergens, so I breathe cleaner air while I clean. It’s super easy to maneuver, and the battery life is impressive, too, lasting long enough for me to clean the whole house without worrying about recharging. If you’re looking for a vacuum that’s effective and easy to use. THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU!!!!!!

Had to replace an older Dysan DC36 that we have been using for about a decade. The new V12 represents a significant improvement over that aging Dyson. Tried to be a good shopper by comparing the Dyson with the multitude of competitive models and finally 'tossed a coin' and picked a Dyson model. The weight is just about right and the emptying system is improved (as long as you remember to detatch any accessory). Good because it more efficiently picks up dirt and needs emptying more often. Plastic feels better somehow. The solid floor broom unit with side looking green LED is pretty cool and helps to keep one on track showing where vacuuming has been done. Don't spend much time looking at the onboard video display. The display is amazing but ... ok it might just need some experience. So, it was a good purchase. We have an inhouse vacuum system, but it still requires fighting with a 30 foot hose. The smaller vac is a quick easy solution for 'dressing up' the house in a hurry. [the hose vac is still the best go to unit for getting the spider webs and spiders off the ceiling.] Thanks

I was able to buy this on 50% sale. And I’m so glad I spent the money. Never had so much fun vacuuming in my life. The green light really helps show me dust and dog hair that I did not know was on my brown woodgrain vinyl floors.

I purchased the Dyson V12 after using my Dyson Cyclone V10 for years. I've had to limit my vacuuming to daylight hours, so I can the dirt and crumbs. No more. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head with the green light is absolutely incredible! Seeing every speck of dirt and dust at night (or any time) is NO problem. My husband and I are amazed at what's to be found on our floors which look clean to the naked eye before vacuuming. And the V12 does a stellar job at getting it clean! Another plus is that the V12 is lighter than my V10. I'm so thankful for my new Dyson V12; it was the perfect choice in vacuums for me (and I'm picky)!

I love the microfiber attachment for vacuuming hard wood floors and the light attachment makes it possible to see all the areas that need to be vacuumed really well. I'd never go back to anything else! And I love that I can get spiders off our vaulted ceilings and walls without a step ladder. It's very light. The mounting hardware doesn't hold all the attachments, but with creativity, it holds all but 1 and this is ok, because anything else would get too bulky. So far the battery does well for our needs, since we usually vacuum areas of our 2000 sqft home in segments, not all at once. It being cordless and lightweight means I more likely to grab it and do a quick clean up than I was before with an upright vacuum.

Several weeks ago I bought this Dyson V12 Detect Slim because my wife was having difficulty using our old traditional-style Hoover vacuum. What a difference! This model is lightweight, cleans great, and is so easy to use. We love all the attachments and how it stores and charges on the wall. We love our Dyson so much that my brother-in-law bought the same model!

I like the vacuum but it already doesn’t work. They are sending me a new battery charger hopefully that’s the problem. One other thing is that I have a large area rug that is washable and it’s really hard to vacuum. It stops and pulls the rug up. It does work good on hardwood and tile. It’s just okay.
