A: Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our cord-free machines are fairly easy to clean and maintain. The clear dust bin can be removed from the machine so you have better access to the cyclone. You can use a brush tool from your machine to clear off any dust or built-up debris on the outer mesh of the cyclone and you can also tap the cyclone on the edge of your trash can to help remove any dirt trapped inside. We have bought a few Dyson vacuums for our Airbnb’s. none of them are robust. (We have hardwood and Ruggable carpets) this v15 is amazing! It’s solid, cleans very well and is the best you can but. Stretch your budget and go big on this one. The rest are not worth it.

I bought this about 3 weeks ago. I had trouble with one of the attachments and Dyson replaced it immediately. This model has fantastic cleaning power. The laser pointer certainly lets you know if you are doing a good job. My one suggestion is that the caddies that are sold with each model should be more generic.

The head that comes with the laser doesn't swivel as good as the one for the carpet, making it harder to reach under furniture and the laser is most of the time worthless because you can just don't see it depending on lighting condition. The V15 I bought doesn't come with extension hose and that hose would be very usefull for lots of things, expecially furniture. Because using the floor heads on furniture, walls and other stuff is not as easy as a regular floor head for a normal vacuum, you always need to switch heads and you also need to cary them with you since there's only 2 accessories that can be attached to the vacuum. It's also very awkward to use only the vacuum without the stick to have it shorter and use only a brush. It feels bulky and cannot fit everywhere. The extension hose might come in handy there, but you have to buy it seperatly. The only thing I like so far for this vacuum is the way you empty the bin.

V8 canister is still better. After emptying, V8 is cleaner. This new design of V15 makes the canister longer, and after emptying, still quite dusty. I like the green LED light, but pretty useless over carpeted areas. I hope they make a LED for carpeted areas.

So this is my 3rd Dyson, have 2 V8's that still work and gave to family members so that I could get the V15 detect total clean. Here's what I like, great suction and power without having to use any attachments. Longer running time than my old machines. Super easy to empty the cannister and I think it's a bit quieter as well. My only negative comment is that it's a little top heavy but overall I love using my new Dyson and highly recommend it! Thanks so much!

Bought this hoover about 18 months ago in place of our shark knowing we have 2 cocker spaniels and girls with long hair. The hoover constantly blocks and I have to stick my fingers into the tiny opening on the side to unblock it. Very frustrating to be blocking every time it’s being used and that isn’t even on the strongest suction. NOT suitable for hair or any kind. Would not recommend this type of Hoover sorry.

I had a V11 that I gave to my son. The V15 shows a lot of improvements since the V11. I'm impressed with the green laser and how it lights the floor (much to my dismay). I had no idea how much dirt there was there. The V15 is like a dry Swifter for the floor. Improvements still needed: Light on the carpeting head. Switch to hold the vacuum on instead of trigger. Overall, I'm pleased but it's still to early to see if the parts reliability/availability issue has been addressed by Dyson

I use this unit for whole house cleaning. All hardwood floors and area rugs. Works well. Only negative for me...the on/off trigger can't be locked into an on position. An issue for aging hands. Otherwise, even though I have no pets, a good tool for cleaning.

Had 2 Dyson vaccums and this is the best so far. Suction power is nearly as compatible to the wired one but much lighter to use. It is very easy to keep clean. Very good improved product.

First the filter - continually needs washing and takes overnight to dry. Next assembling the parts - how can you see where the connection points are for the tools at the same time as holding the main body without turning it upside down? This goes for all the tools. Next - when you want to stop in order to move a chair for example, where do you stand the machine without its falling over? Next -the stick model was recommended as useful for dusting curtains. Did they warn how heavy this machine is and difficult to hold upright in the air for very long? I was influenced in buying this by my experience with the DC01 and DC04 which I did find easy and effective so that's a great pity. V15 is very expensive and a total waste of money.

So what do l like over the V10 I’ve replaced. The power increase means my carpet cleans better; this feels as good as l remember from a main operated hoover, especially at full power. You can adjust the suction of the Motorbar, which is a really nice option however this makes it a little tougher to move the hoover back and forth. The Motorbar seems to do a better job of untangling trodden on carpets. The wand detaches to reveal a handy brush, which is great for a quick clean of window blinds for example. I also like the power adjusts upward/downwards automatically where there's more/less dirt, this is a fantastic feature. The battery is now sufficient to clean my 3 bedroom home. So lots of noticeable improvements over the V10. However, the wand developed a fault. The top plastic connector part of the wand became loose and so the metal part of the wand rotates as you're hoovering when it should remain fixed. Dyson supplied a new compatible wand however it's not the same wand that came with the V15. So the handy brush that reveals itself when you remove the wand is no longer compatible with the replacement wand. Not happy about that hence the 3 star review.

I was initially impressed with how well this was working - powerful performance and very easy to use. When purchased I noticed that the foam seal around the cyclones was sticking out quite a lot and now after only owning it for less than 8 weeks with light usage it has come out entirely and started to tear. This seems to be letting air/dust escape also. Does not seem to be a well constructed product but will see if I can get a repair under warranty.
