Really enjoyed this toy, however our compartment that holds the slides would not stay closed. The slides would constantly fall out, waiting for our replacement to see if it has the same issue. 4 year old really enjoys the toy and stays busy!

Really solid for a 3 YO who doesn't have much attention span- like the other reviewers said, there should be more slides for purchase! Also, the drawer on our won't stay closed. I returned and ordered another, but it does the same thing. So if the 3 YO picks up the microscope too fast they slides go flying.

More slides, please!!!

This company produced a great product -- and then dropped the ball. Our six-year-old granddaughter loves this! It's just 3 weeks after Christmas and she's already been through all the slides and is begging for more. The company really needs to make more slides available or to supply an adapter that allows it to accept regular prepared slides. If it's an add-on, that's fine. Now that I know how much she enjoys it, I'd gladly pay for an extension kit.

Here’s the Scope

Present for my 5 y/o. She finds it very engaing. I think there are 20 separate slides, but each slide has 3 different pictures (so that’s 60 things to look at). The voice is clear and adjustable. Right now she just likes to view the slides and listen to the name but there is also a place to get facts and then quizzes about the subject matter. She does need help positioning the slides (they only fit the microscope on one side and in one direction- plus, there is a lock that needs to snap on each picture to view). Changing among the 3 different pictures on a slide is especially a challenge for her. Because of this, I would say that this gift may be better for a 6 or 7 year old, but it is fine and also interesting for a 5 year old as long as an adult or older sibling helps out. The slides are a hard plastic and fit all tidy into a little drawer for quick storage. The telescope itself does not move, but it does magnify the things on the slides to make them appear very large when one looks through the eye holes. Great STEM gift. It’s learning and it’s fun!

Mostly love this...

We love how interactive this is! We love fact mode and quiz mode. The only thing we don't love is that there aren't any additional slides available to purchase and my kids quickly made their way through all the slides it came with. It wouldn't be so bad if it were compatible with other slides. But they do still enjoy it

Educational and FUN for kids!

This is honestly one of the best purchases I have ever made for my children. They both absolutely LOVE the Talking Microscope and I love that it's educational too! This was the most engaged that have ever been with a toy and they both spent the majority of the afternoon playing with it. My 3 year old loved loooking through the microscope and viewing the different slides. My 5 year old loved looking at the slides and learning the fun facts. It comes with lots of slides and each slide has 3 pictures and fun facts! My favorite part is the quiz mode which your child can use after hearing each slide fact. It's durable and the slides store inside the drawer compartment inside the Talking Microscope. I will absolutely be purchasing more of these for gifts in the near future! I highly recommend this Talking Microscope!
