El Yucateco XXXtra Hot Habanero Sauce comes from the rescued recipe of the ancient Mayan civilization, hence the name “Kutbil-Ik” – a Mayan word meaning “crushed chili.” Ranging from 10,000 to 12,500 Scoville units, this hot sauce packs a versatile punch of flavor when added to meats, drinks, salads, and more! We use minimal preservatives and are gluten free, sugar free, and vegan friendly!

There was a bitter aftertaste at first and then I could taste the flavor and heat. very spicy. aftertaste may be from the sodium benzoate. won't be using at all unfortunately

I really like that this version of El Yucateco does not have added food coloring. I must admit that I am a slight weakling when it comes to spicy foods, so the extra hot rating scare me a bit. However, this was not too spicy for me but still quite spicy. I like that this doesn't have a huge vinegar flavor. It has a smoky taste that I enjoy. There is a taste to the habanero that is not my favorite but the other flavor profiles are worth it. The bottle is easy to pour and gives the right amount each time.

Ah! XXX - my absolute favorite El Yucateco hot sauces! It's called XXX for a reason; deliciously spicy but incredibly flavorful. The more I have, the more I want, and no meal is quite the same after you've tasted this sauce and find yourself in a situation where you don't have any. If you're a hot sauce fan I entirely urge you to get some of this; it's amazing.

This is my go to sauce for batch recipes. I use it in pots of soups, pots if chili, large tofu scrambles. It is hot. Yes indeed. And I'm a bit if a wimp. But the flavor outweighs the heat in an amazing symphony. This is like nothing else on the market.

I've been playing the hot sauce field for years.... Until I found El Yucateco Hot Sauce. The XXX is hot for sure but it's the Flavor that is absolutely unmatched. At this point food is just an excuse to get this in my mouth. Do yourself a favor and meet the king of flavor.

The flavor is here, the heat is absolutely here. I would recommend starting out with a drop or two first to test your flavor buds on it. I used it in chili and it was amazing!
