A: Hi Rawaa, To make it easy to spot our vegan flavors, we have added Vegan Action’s “Certified Vegan” symbol to our chocolate bar wrappers. It is important to keep in mind that while our Certified Vegan flavors do not contain dairy ingredients, they are processed on the same depositing machine as our milk chocolate products. Although we take great care in cleaning removable parts and purging our equipment between flavor runs, there is the possibility of dairy being present in our vegan chocolate selections.

My go to chocolate and now my mother loves it too! It helps support wild life (the owls) and that makes me feel good while I’m savoring my chocolate. Rich dark chocolate taste, touch of salt and almonds … it’s a little bit of heaven(chocolate lover). I used to buy Godiva but not anymore we love this much more.

Have been buying Endangered Species (ES) chocolate for probably a decade and eating some amount almost daily. This was my fave. However, Consumer Reports testing recently found ES 72% dark chocolate to be at 181% of California's maximum allowable dose level (MADL) for lead (report available online). Lead contamination comes from the manufacturing process and is not inherent to cocoa, and as Consumer Reports notes, "no amount is considered safe." Wrote to Endangered Species to inquire and relay my concern as a long term consumer and they did not even bother to respond. Nor did they respond to Consumer Reports for that matter. Personally, done with Endangered Species and have begun a search for a safer chocolate from a more responsive, trustworthy company.

This taste good to me. The almonds and salt balance the bitterness, although the bitterness isn’t overwhelming anyway. Dark chocolate isn’t my favorite but I’m trying to get more into it.

This is my favorite quick-fix when I need a little something after a meal or with a handful of almonds. (Or, to be honest, really anytime I need some chocolate).
