This filter does little to remove dust from the air. In fact, I'm now swimming in thick dust I never had before. Not worth the money. I'm going to a better filter and sucking up the cost. These were the kind recommended by my AC people who said there was no reason for a more expensive filter. Not true. I'll buy better ones because I don't have the time to dust my entire house every day. I do not think this situation is good for health, good for my AC coils, nor good for my air ducts.

Works Great

I prefer to use an HVAC air filter with a relatively low MERV rating, so as to avoid putting extra strain on the air-handling system. And low-cost fiberglass filters simply do not do an adequate job of removing dust from the air in my home. Filtrete's Clean Living filters are just right for me. I keep my air filter cleaning machine in my bedroom and use it every night. After a while the filter gets really gray, so I know it's working. Also my husband used to have breathing problems when he went to bed and now he is breathing much easier. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Changed the Clean Living Filters

They completely changed the size and function of this filter. And it's not a good change. I need a Merv 5 for my furnace and they are tough to find. I might need to look for another brand as this 'new' style doesn't help the dust. Diasapointed.

An economy Filter at best

This 600 won’t remove half of what the 1,000 micron unit will and nowhere near a third of what the 1,900 micron filter will do. Your only choice here is to keep the house as clean as possible to reduce the load on the filter system itself (The cleaner the house.. shoes off in the mud room, dogs and cats brushed outside etc..) youll give this economy filter a fighting chance. It’s defiantly a filter you’ll have to change more often to keep the particulate mater being circulated down, but at $15 it’s an affordable unit that won’t break the bank every year just on filters as you certainly will if you were to swap out the 1,900 micron filter every two to three months. Regardless, if you keep the ductwork clean and keep a cleaner household, this economy filter can get the job done, and once a year you can splurge on the 1,900 micron during allergy season.
