First Alert Electrochemical/Ionization Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector

The battery backup is a wonderful feature for those just in case moments should the power go out. We have multiple detectors throughout our home and it's very convenient to change the batteries. Should you need assistance, First Alert is very helpful and kind. They have their customer's best interests in mind and that is very comforting. Nevertheless, I highly recommend First Alert hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. You won't regret it.

I'm sooo happy that I went with these ones! They are extremely easy to install. I did it myself and it only took me a few mintues to do. They look way nicer then the old ones did, they have a battery backup and not only can it detect smoke they also detect carbon Monoxide too! ...........................................................................................................

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using First Alert hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in every room of our home for the past 6 years. These have a long battery life and are extremely trustworthy. When one of ours quit working a couple months ago, we immediately replaced it with this. It can be tricky when one starts chirping, to figure out which room and unit needs a battery change. However, this is the case for any brand and line of detector on the market. The may it very easy to look for the flashing red light which indicate it is the unit that needs a battery change or to be reset.

It came with several of the most common standard alarm wiring harnesses which eased installation. It comes with a ten year battery back-up which adds a very nice, worry free feature to the alarm. The alarm itself is very loud and seems as though it would be more than effective in the event of a fire. The fact that it's hard wired to the rest of the detectors in the house is a definite plus. We have decided to switch out all of the smoke detectors with more of these.

We have a family of five in our home and with three kids we need to make sure that if there is an emergency we are alerted as soon as possible. This smoke and carbon monoxide detector is hardwired into the house so its always on and if the power is off the backup battery kicks in and keeps it on and working properly. The back up battery in a 10 year lithium battery meaning you should never have to buy or change the battery! We installed the smoke detector in less than five minutes and were immediately able to test it out. The sound is loud and can alert the whole house since it sits in the middle of our home. I feel confident that if an emergency should ever happen we will be prepared and ready to evacuate the home quickly. I highly recommend this smoke and carbon monoxide protector to keep you family and home safe at all times!

I install alot in our home and others so it was really easy to wire in for me, the backup battery is great for when the power go out as well. This is built tough and looks nice on the ceiling. I feel better knowing I have a device that has the 2 in one alert feature and the led light tells you which is going off. Definitely get you one of these for your home, this is the best brand out there to have and are amazing. Best quality out there!

When I put the First Alert unit in, the included adapters made it easy to switch from another brand. Total installation time? 2 minutes. Terrific. It's also extremely loud when it tests - easy for everyone in the house to hear easily. The hardwire connectors come with a bare wire adapter, as well, so if this is your first installation of a hard wire smoke alarm, it will still be very easy to install and use.

I love that I finally only have to have one detector that works for both smoke and carbon monoxide. I truly feel safer in my home knowing I am protected with this detector. It was super easy to install since we previously had wired detectors throughout our home. It was literally a matter of a few wire connections and up it went. I love that it has a 10 year lithium battery in case of power outage and that it has a locked drawer to prevent tampering. The detector was easy to install, the wiring is all setup and more importantly the battery life is supposed to be amazing. I am excited about the battery life as my current smoke detectors I have to change them every 6 months. The detector is well built, the materials looks sturdy and there are no filmsy materials. I will soon be replacing all my smoke detectors with this brand. I am tired of changing batteries every so often. The only thing I don't like about these detectors, is I can't paint over them.

I needed to replace my old detector, it was a great upgrade.The detector detects smoke and carbon monoxide. Dedector is hardwire and it includes an adapter. Has a battery backup, which it also includes a lithium battery. It comes with an attachment, simple way to unscrew if battery needs changing. The dedector has a light to indicate power and it also has a button to test the sound. Furthermore detector alerts you when its time to replace, I highly recommend.

We loved that it could just plug into the already hard wired set. The battery backup gives us some piece of mind in the power goes out (and that happens from time to time). We have a number of units already in our home but we think we are going to replace them with this combination units. Affordable and easy to install, you can't go wrong with this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quick and easy! These are super easy to install. I replaced very similar units already wired together, and replacement was easy. I did not feel a need to turn off the electricity; I just pulled the plug from the old ones, as the connecting plug is identical for both old and new. The only difference was the mounting ring; I had to unscrew two screws in the ceiling, twist the existing ring off, and put on the new one (after untwisting it from the new detector), then screwing it down. Then the detector itself twist-locks into the new ring. So far (about two weeks) we have had no false alarms. I plan on getting the 5 pack for the rest of the house and linking them.

I really like how it has both in one unit it really puts my mind at ease with my kids. The back up battery features was also a must have in our house. Overall this is an amazing product and the quality is great as well. You will not be disappointed with the first alert product. It has all the proper hardware to install it easily and it does install easily. When this detector goes off it is more than loud enough to get your attention! There is no way you'll miss it! I have no worries that it will hold up for a long time. It seems to be plenty durable and there are no cheap components. After I installed it we tested it and it worked in the first test. I love the sense of security that it gives me knowing my family is safe and protected. The alarm signal is very loud. I like that the backup battery will keep the alarm working should there be a power outage. We have a lot of storms where I live in Tx so that is definitely a plus. Thankfully I have not yet had to experience it going off and hopefully never will, but I do love knowing that my family will have the warning it needs to get out should we need to. This First Alert Carbon Monoxide Detector and Smoke alarm now does two much needed alerts for a family. We replaced just a regular smoke alarm and now feel more secure in our home. It was easy to wire into the old wiring. The battery back up is also great when the power goes out your are still safe. With Carbon Monoxide you are not aware of its presence, but the alarm will let you know if you or your home is in any danger from it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This first alert carbon monoxide and smoke detector in one works out very well, the packaging and the instructions are very easy to read knowing I had no issue hardwiring it whatsoever, the alarm is not overbearing and you are able to hear it all over the house and I would highly recommend this first alert product to anyone looking for a carbon monoxide or smoke detector. From my previous history of buying first alert products I knew this would be a no hassle install and use from the moment I purchased it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our smoke detectors were needing to be replaced and I wanted to add the carbon monoxide detector since we've never had one! My husband said they were easy to install since they are compatible with the detectors we already had. Took him all of 15 minutes to replace 3 of them. Hopefully the batteries will last a good 6 months before we need to replace. I read several reviews that mentioned issues with the "chirp" that lets you know the batteries are low. They said once the batteries were replaced with new ones the "chirp" just wouldn't stop! We shall see.

The two in one protection and the long-life battery make it that much better so you know that your family will be safe. I have one in every room of my home. I have never had any issues with mine and my husband makes sure to check them once a month to make sure everything is working. I highly recommend this product.
