Q: Is it BPA free? Is it made in USA?

  • A: We design and engineer thousands of toys and children’s products, and each model is evaluated to make sure it meets stringent safety standards. Our internal product safety procedures are designed to meet or exceed regulations and laws enforced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and their regulatory counterparts around the world. In toys, BPA is most often found in a material called polycarbonate, which is a very strong and clear plastic that is used in many products to prevent them from shattering or breaking. We set a standard that polycarbonate cannot be used in any product that is intended to be mouthed or touch food or made for a child under the age of 3, with the exception of power adapters and DVDs. For products with polycarbonate, we continue to pursue viable alternatives. For a closer look at our commitment to making safe and sustainable products, you can visit the Citizenship section of Mattel’s website.

Looked Used and Dirty

We received this item in the mail, the box was open, there were holes, and it looked used. The stickers looked like they had damaged by water. I thought we could get replacement stickers but even the actual plastic items were dirty and stained. We tried to put some of it together and realized we didn’t have all of the screws and some of the pieces wouldn’t disassemble properly. This was not worth the money and we promptly returned. We are so bummed it looked so cute in pictures and videos online

Disappointed

Laugh and learn smart learning home We bought this as a gift for our child's 2nd birthday. When we got it the box was beat up but I was willing to look past that. As my husband and I began to remove the parts from the box they were absolutely filthy. We had to scrub all of them down and even then we couldn't fully get them clean and looking new. The sticker decals were very crooked and peeling off, the thermometer was broken, and the buttons need pressed several times for them to properly function. It seems like we were given a "floor model" or someone else's returned product. I feel like Fisher Price is a well reputable company and therefore I expected better quality.

I purchased this Smart house thinking that it will be great quality and my baby will get lots of use from it but when I assembled it I was disappointed how how poorly Fisher Price put on the stickers. They are all bubbled and creases and already starting to come off. The sound is also intermittent and I have to constantly switch it off then back on to get it working. Really disappointed.

Disappointed for the price

I bought this for my daughter’s first birthday. This is really too short for toddlers, and better suited to babies that aren’t walking yet and want to sit to play all the time. Considering the price of this thing, I thought it might actually hold up against everyday play. My 1yo daughter discovered light switches, and was thrilled to have one of her own to play with, but it quit working after 15 minutes of play, and she wasn’t being overly rough with it... just turning it off and then turning it back on again and giggling. We took the whole thing apart, including the entire panel with the light switch, thinking maybe something just got out of place. I was shocked at the cheap mechanism they used as a sensor for the light switch - it doesn’t fit well and has too much space to move around and lose contact with the light switch itself that it’s no wonder it quit working. (It’s not rocket science, and standard light switches aren’t even expensive - I can’t understand why they designed it this way!) We also bought the smart car that supposedly pairs with the house, but it has to be within a foot of the smart speaker to “answer” the call from the car - it’s really disappointing. On a personal note, I thought it was such a waste that the solar panel does nothing, despite the fact that it’s on the side with electricity - it just seems like a missed opportunity. Despite her obvious frustration that the light switch doesn’t work every time she tries it now, my toddler still enjoys playing with it in general, especially the refrigerator door, pressing the music button, and playing with the balls on the outside, but I feel like we could have gotten a much cheaper and bigger playhouse for what it actually does well.

My kids really enjoy this toy! It took me husband about 10 mins to put together. We purchased it for my 9 month old for Christmas and he loved it from Day 1. My four year old also loves playing with the toy with him. There are several different stages with increasing levels of development as well as four different languages. All of the buttons and sounds are super cute! It does take up quite a bit of space.

I bought this last year for my daughter for her first birthday. There was things I liked and disliked about it right away and then as the time went on I noticed others. I love that it is a house and not just a kitchen! The colors are cute! Faces and everything on it are cute! Cute songs and such. I also built it myself and it was easy and fun to do! Now for dislikes. 1. I dislike how small the entry way is, no child can walk through it! My daughter got it for her first birthday and it was even too small for her to be fully standing! I’m not sure why they would make such toy so small and un-walkthrough-able? 2. I dislike that the kitchen doesn’t produce any fun sounds! The knob for the stove makes a cranking sound when you turn it, no sound made from the battery powered toy. It would be nice if they would make it so when the knob is turned the stove plate would make a sound, light up, you know, cooking sounds/songs, ect! The kitchen makes absolutely 0 sounds. For a $149 toy, I expect every aspect of the house to make sounds/songs, especially a kitchen! Sink doesn’t make any water sounds and fridge doesn’t make sounds either. Songs when the fridge is open would be nice, anything to draw attention to a silent kitchen lol 3. I dislike that the buttons on the “outside” portion of the house, under the doorbell light, the 1 2 3 buttons. You have to press VERY hard in order for them to make sounds! For my one year old it was hard for her, not sure if it was just mine or others had issues with that too! All the other buttons on the house worked fine! It was just the outside number buttons and doorbell buttons that had to be pushed with some extra force to make it work. 4. This kind of goes hand in hand with 3. Again for a over $100 toy, I expect most if not everything to make sounds or talk or songs. When you are flipping two the cookbook under the clock there is no songs that come with it. It would be a nice touch as the first page is pictures of fruits and the second one has numbers and the smart car on it. 5. I had also bought the smart car that “syncs” up to this house. There isn’t really any information I could find to make them “pair” or “sync” together. My daughter would put the car aside the “outside” portion of the house where the car charger is, mail box, and red sensor looking button and the car would very rarely call home making the home talk in response to the car when the phone button on the car was pressed.

I bought this toy about 2 years ago for my daughter , even purchased it for only $45! Still works very well except for the door, it speaks as if it’s opening and closing when it’s not but when you actually open and closing the door it doesn’t say anything. This started about 5 months ago, other than that everything is still working perfectly fine !!

My son received this for Christmas when he was 5 months old. He is now 1 year old and he absolutely has loved this play house since day one. It has been great to see as he gets older his different interactions and abilities with the house. He dances to all of the songs and loves opening and closing the door. He also received the Laugh & Learn Smart Car which works with this house and he loves that too. He knows to press the phone button on the car and the house will start making noise. Honestly love this product and very highly recommend. We are still on Level 1, excited to see what Levels 2 & 3 have in store!

Great house with a lot to entertain with. Similar to other comments, the doorbell and numbers only work sometimes. Took it apart to ensure cords weren’t pinched, but no change. Changed batteries, no change. Other features work properly. No interaction with the smart car. Created more shapes at home like mini cardboard boxes for recycling too. Child has been playing with it since age 13 months to 16 months so far.

We received this as a baby shower gift. Took about 45 minutes to assemble. The only thing on the outside that works is the mailbox lid. The doorbell, door, house numbers etc. do not work. Very disappointed. Can not recommend. Seems a lot of people are having the same problem. I expected much better from FP.

We got this for my daughters first birthday after eyeing it for Christmas. It took a little more work to put together than we initially thought it would, but it’s very sturdy. We have played around with the different levels so we can hear more of the sounds. My daughter spends so much time every day playing in the house with all the toys and buttons. I will say the door is a little low, my daughter is tall, but it is still so low that even if she wasn’t I don’t think she could walk through. Also the buttons in the front for the doorbell and the 1, 2, 3 can be touchy and not work all the time. You have to press other buttons to make them work, but she doesn’t seem to be bothered by this. Other than those two we have loved this so far.
