A: A "Fitbit moderator" on their forum said (in 2018) that that currently was not offered, but future apps might be able to use the "relative SpO2 sensor" to determine blood pressure. I'm guessing the answer is still no. These companies don't want to risk offering features that regulators decide are tooo similar to medical devices. Plus, people are still debating whether those sensors are sufficient to provide accurate blood pressure readings. I hope this doesn't just replace the first answer I submitted. A: There's no reason that smartwatches like this can't connect with non-smartphones and provide some degree of functionality (they've had bluetooth units longer than iOS and Android have existed), but because that's not really the point, there's not much info on it, and I couldn't tell from a bit of googling whether this one will do it at all. You might have to contact Fitbit directly. It certainly won't do everything it could do with an Android or iOS device. Older smartwatches had some support for exporting all their data to desktop/laptop computers, so if Fitbit still supports that, you could get some functionality without using a phone at all. But based on my experience with the top-rated companies for customer service (as a customer service/tech support rep for at least one consistently near the top, and as a customer with too many questions for a lot of others), I would guess your chances of getting a Fitbit tech support rep on the first try who actually knows the answer (instead of just confidently assuming) is about 50/50.
