Standard ND Kit. The Formatt-Hitech 100x100mm Neutral Density Pro Kit is an excellent choice for photographers just getting started with longer exposures. This kit offers 2, 3 & 4 stops of neutral densityfilters in Formatt-Hitech's rugged and reliable resin ND formulation. Resin Neutral Density. Resin Neutral Density filters allow the photographer to shoot their fast lenses wide open, or lengthen exposure time to several seconds creating visually stunning mist effects in moving water. Because the maximum density of the filters in this kit is limited to 4 stops, the traditional ND formulation can be used without worry of color shifts or digital artifacts. For darker ND (e.g. 10 stops you would choose the ProStop IRND or the Firecrest ND). This kit offers tremendous value for money while providing the photographer a great starting point for their filter collection. Filter Material Science - Resin. There is a misconception that glass is better than resin. Formatt-Hitech's resin filters are ultra flat, have excellent contrast and are completely transparent to the visible light spectrum. In fact, Formatt-Hitech's traditional glass filters are manufactured by sandwiching an optically true resin filter between glass. Formatt-Hitech's resin has the highest scratch resistance of any non-glass optical material and it's resistant to most solvents, chemicals, aging and material fatigue. Because of the light weight and portability, resin filters are a great choice for photographers and HDSLR film makers. Resin filters are dyed using Formatt-Hitech's exclusive Absorbing Cell Technology process.
