5-star game, but this version is cheaply made!

Like another review mentions, the version Target is selling (got mine in retail, not sure if you get the same one from online ordering) is a cheaply made version of this great game where the cards are on a thinner, less slick stock, the printing is washed-out in comparison, the box is flimsy, and the price is not even lower for all this. You can identify the cheaper version by it having a hanging hook on the top for hanging on retail pegs and a thin cardboard outer box that's flexible. In contrast, the original version for sale at other places has a hard thick cardboard box, and the cards have vibrant printing on thicker stock with a slicker and more durable finish. Sadly, I found that out after buying Target's version, but I have seen both in person side-by-side now and can attest to it. I can't recommend buying the version from Target unless you don't care about quality and durability, but as for the game itself I think it's a very fun and clever two player trick-taking game, and it has quickly become a favorite of mine and a staple on my shelf. I just feel disappointed that Target is selling a cheapo version and not even with a competitive price to match its lower quality!

For gamers that like having a nice collection beware! This game does not come as pictured in the photos/Video. This is a cheap flimsy paper box. Not Cardboard. This container will tear after a few plays and will not display well on a gamers shelf. It also opens on the small end at the top like a pack of playings cards. Very disappointing that Target has cheaped-out and is selling this poor replacement of the nicer game.

Fun trick game

The rules are a bit complicated but my 12 year old and I figured it out after one round. We love it. This is a card game where each player has 13 cards and you each try to take tricks. The odd numbered carda have special powers like allowing you to lead the next trick, forcing your opponent to play their highest card, or switching the trump suit. The two best parts are 1) The art. I legitimately went online to see if i could find the artwork for sale. It is just beautiful. 2) The scoring is fantastic. If you fall way behind in tricks, you actually get MORE points for being "humble" and if you win more than your fair share you LOSE points for being "greedy". This forced to to use a lot more strategy trying to force your partners hand or to throw tricks. I also love that there are only 30 cards so its a very small, portable card game that's easy to shuffle for smaller hand and when you play to 21 takes only about 15 to 20 minutes. (ahem.. UNO)

A lot of instruction/vocab for just really simple game mechanics.

I bought this for my husband and I to play. We just didn’t find it that fun. The point system made it interesting, but idk maybe it was too simple of a game? For reference my husband and I like games like splendor, ticket to ride, and exploding kittens. Maybe other people will like this game?

This is a trick taking game. Don't get greedy and take too many tricks though! Quick play and a small box. A good after dinner game for my wife and me.

Fun 2 player game. I'd highly recommend it! Easy to learn, moderate strategy, 20-30 minutes per game, and small box to store. My fiance and I are in our 30s and really have enjoyed this during the pandemic.

Ehh. It's good for a few times but after that it gets boring. I suppose this is more for the strategic gamers rather than party gamers. I prefer games that get you laughing and having fun.

Simple. Not very exciting. A game here or there is alright to kill time, but it definitely is not a game worth playing more than a few times here and there.

A great 2 player game. This is my go to two player game. If your familiar with Euchre, Hearts, Spades or any other trick taking game you should be able to pick it up quick. The card powers really kick it up a notch! Quick, easy, and satisfying.

Really enjoyed playing this one. Rules can be compared to euchre but the ceiling for fun is even higher. Loved playing this at our monthly couples game night.

Another GREAT title from Renegade

Fox in the Forest is a great trick-taking game from Renegade Games. As a Michigander, I already love trick taking games like Euchre. This combines that element with another Scr*w your neighbor tactic. For the price point, this is a MUST own.
