Description
SLUG BALM is a silky, non-sticky jelly balm made up of a plant-derived, lightweight (yet seriously effective) formula that melts into the skin, creating a cocoon-like environment for your skin to repair itself. Throughout the day, water naturally evaporates from our skin to the outside world. You’re susceptible to excess water loss if your skin barrier, the outermost layer of your skin, is in less than optimal condition. I specifically want to address the idea that using hydrogenated vegetable oil topically is not good for you. Unless you are also frying your eggs in this face cream, you’re absolutely fine. Something labeled “for topical use” can be amazing (for example retinol serum) for your skin and be very bad if ingested. Please remember there is a difference between “not healthy to eat” and “toxic”.

You're better off just using Vaseline. It is way too expensive when Vaseline does the same thing for way cheaper. Yeah my face felt nice when I woke up but as soon as I would wash it off, my face was back to being dry and flaky. Pro: I have very sensitive skin, I get rashes with everything I put on my face and this did not give me any reaction.

This balm is a life saver! I use it for everything. Of course, I use it to slug my face, but I also use it on any dry areas on my body that need a little extra TLC. I use it on top of small cuts and wounds. I also had a slight allergic reaction to a necklace I wore, and I used the balm to soothe the area. It's amazing! So much better than vaseline IMO.

I was a dummy and wanted to try new things in my routine forgetting that I have crazy sensitive skin! My skin was so red and raw from the retinol that everything hurt. After searching online for sensitive skin care I came across this brand and it seriously saved my skin! My complexion has never been better! The only thing I would say is that I would not consider the Balm lightweight enough to wear during the day, it is like the consistency of vaseline so if that feeling bothers you, I would only recommend wearing it at night when you are about to go to sleep!

I’m actually really impressed with this line. I use Tret and it can cause some dryness and after applying my treat I use the moisturizer and then follow up with this balm and I wake up with plump hydrated skin in the AM. My skin is so soft and smooth. If you are experiencing any dryness whether it’s from actives in your skincare, a skin condition or just the change in weather you should try this. It’s creates an occlusive barrier and helps prevent the transdermal water loss that happens while you sleep so your skin is able to soak up your serums and moisturizer better. I have chronic dry lips too, no matter how much water I drink, lip balms I use etc. So I also slather this over my lips in the PM and it helps so much! The only negative I have with it is the price point, I personally think it should be lower.

I just learned that this product has hydrogenated vegetable oil. I really wanted to like it but my first impression was it was too oily to be a balm. After researching it’s ingredient, the I understood why it was so oily. Also, I break out easily so this was a big no for me. Ladies please learn about safe products to put in your skin. This ain’t it.

I like the texture and it does perform how it advertises but the smell is like lard or bacon grease. I don’t like added fragrance and don’t mind weird smelling products usually because I have scent allergies but this was so distracting. I often don’t wash my face in the morning but I have to with this because of the scent. It is just the scent of the ingredients so I will keep using it but just be aware!

Moisture lock-in at its finest. A little goes a very long way, this may be a small container, but yet you only need a very tiny bit on your face. This made me feel like my face would be greasy, but it was how it works , and my face sure wasn’t dry after using this.

I didn’t care too much about this product. It felt like vegetable oil mixed in petroleum jelly. The product goes really nice and shiny. The product did not last overnight. My skin felt the same after waking up. I thought that this would have a good fruity fragrance but it had no scent at all. I use this product for over a month with no results.

I'm almost 40 and just started to research and pay closer attention to my skincare routine. I added Tretinoin and have been looking for a good occlusive to use as the final part of my skincare routine in the evenings. This slug balm looks and feels exactly like petrolum jelly. It is very greasy and I worried about it coming off on my bedding while I slept. My skin has been very flaky after starting Tretinoin, but that seems to have gone away while using this product. A little bit goes a long way, so this container will last quite some time. While it served its purpose, I don't think this will be one of my must have skincare products.
