G.I. Joe Cobra Commander ReAction Figure

Awesome new design for o-ring figures.

Speaking as someone who loves 1/18 scale action figures but didn't grow up with the original GI Joe toyline, I hope to review this figure from a different perspective than those nostalgic for the original toys. I think this figure is very good. These new ReAction figures are meant to emulate the feel of the original figures from the 80's with a rubber O ring inside, a more cartoony art style, and 12 points of articulation compared to other offerings from the ReAction toyline which only had around 5 (which is why I hadn't bought any ReAction figures until now). I never owned the original 80's figure, so I cannot compare directly, but the figure feels good quality and look like they could have come from the same era. The figure is well painted (especially the shiny face of the helmet) and all the joints have nice tolerances. This figure comes with a LOW amount of accessories: 2 guns and that's it. And while yes, the original Cobra Commander only came with 1 gun so this could technically be considered an upgrade, he also had the ability to store his gun on his back which this figure cannot. Also, because the hands are hard plastic, placing the weapons in them can be scary as it feels like the thumb could break off if done incorrectly. Also, because of a lack of ankle joints and the rubber o ring construction of the hips, kneeling positions with this figure are hard to achieve. So do I like this figure? Yes, very much so. However, given the price and the fact you can get a Classified figure for only $5 more that comes with a lot more stuff and is a whole 2-3 inches taller, I would wait for a sale. I wouldn't pay more than $18 for this honestly.
