Initially, I liked this roller quite a bit, as it is firm but the padding makes it more comfortable. But -- it broke after I used it about a dozen times. I did not use extreme pressure and did not abuse it in any way. The rubber coating broke loose from the stick at one end. Now worthless. I am going to replace it with a stick that does not have a coating like this one - that is harder and less flexible. I think that style would last a lot longer.
Things were going really well, and I was really enjoying this product, until it literally fell apart in my hands. I was using it for my sore hamstrings, when the large bead just decided to fall off of the metal rod. I thought I could re screw the screw back into the steel rod but the screw looks as though it's already stripped. Was really disappointed that the product only had coverage after 30 days of purchase, and the retailer that I purchased it through had a similar policy. I just felt like I threw my money away.
The user can control the pressure and the surface is designed for a little give, which is great. The much-advertised "bonus massage guide" is useless -- it is a few photos of people holding the device near different body parts. No instructional text, videos, or additional photos. It wasn't the primary reason for choosing this product over others, but I was really looking forward to it and now I'm disappointed.
Have had a lot of pain in my left leg from a tight TI band. Nothing helped, not even a muscle relaxer. My personal trainer suggested a massage roller and showed me how to used it to "roll" the tension out of my hip and outer thigh. Very simple instrument that brings quick relief!
