I used this mix to start tomato seeds in 4 inch pots and the sprouts appeared in five days. I haven't had to water much because the soil stays moist for many days, with out getting too soggy even when I do water. No fungus, no drying out. I am very pleased.

I tried soil blocking for the first time with this seed starting mix and it worked great. I did 3 parts seed starting mix to 1 part water. It has been easy to keep the soil blocks moist and all the vegetable and flower seedlings are doing well so far.

I'm sold on this product. I've tested it side by side against several other seed starters and it's the clear winner. Other seed starters just look like regular old potting soil. The gardeners supply is very fine and seeds germinated better in it. From here on out it's my go to seed starter.

Everything worked as advertised. I bought some grow lights and am doing a January "dry run" to make sure all my plants will sprout using the seed starting mix. Everything has sprouted and is healthy.

This is the only seed starting mix I will use. I have used it in the past with great results but last year I bought another company's seed starting mix because it was on sale. I had less than 50% germination. I found a partial bag of Gardener's Supply seed starting mix leftover from 2 years earlier, resowed with fresh seeds and had 100% germination. I won't use any other company's mix again!

I had been using Epsom seedling soil but decided to try Gardeners.seedling mix. I had planted some purple Brussels sprout seeds in the Epsom soil and after two weeks I got 2 out of 14 seeds planted to sprout. With the Gardeners I got 3 out of 4 in two days. I'll never use anything but Gardeners after this. I also planted them in the pop out pots which are genius. They can grow in those pots until they are well developed little plants without trauma to their root system.

I did a trial of Gardner's Seed Starting Mix and Espoma's product that I also bought. I was surprised to see such a difference. Both did fine in getting seeds to sprout, but Gardener's starts were much bigger and quicker to be ready to plant out.

I've tried several seed starting products . I found that this medium is the cleanest and best for the job. My seedlings have no trouble pushing up through this soil and water draws up thru bottom of trays easily.

I have used this product for many years now. It is my go-too for indoor seed starting. The seeds seem really happy to sprout in this mix. Quality is always consistent and always good. A great product. Highly recommended. This year I also purchased Gardeners' Supply Eco-co Coir Seed Starting Mix but I have not tried it yet. I have been very satisfied with everything I have ever purchased from Gardeners' Supply and I fully expect to feel the same about this new option.

I love this seed starting mix! Its the perfect mix for seeds to germinate and thrive in. I've never had any issue with bugs like you might get from some brands. I start a lot of seeds and my seedlings are always strong and healthy. Great nutrient mix to give seedlings an amazing start.

I used this mix and Espoma mix in my trays. The Espoma mix I had no issues with but this mix every tray has an algae issue. Don't recommend it at all.

Algae is usually a result of soil that is too wet in combination with poor air circulation. Letting the soil dry out will often take care of this issue. The water reservoir need not be full until the plants have germinated and a root ball has formed.
