Firstly, yes, as some said, there is a smell, but it's a natural, fresh, green smell and I found it to be very pleasant. But ultimately it doesn't matter because it doesn't last and dissipates quickly. This is a very nice garland and I used it to decorate my dining table. It makes for a wonderful 'background' for decorative objects and candlesticks and such. I'm very happy with it and definitely can recommend it, but there are two things you should be aware of: the leaves are very small and tight together, so you need to expect a smaller and more delicate impact than you would with most garlands. ( I think the pictures make it look much bigger and substantial than it actually is. ) Also, it came out of the box somewhat squashed and flattened, and because it is preserved ( real ) you can't fluff it up too much or the dry stems will break. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, but be aware that these 2 things might disappoint you if you're not aware of it up front.
It’s described as being preserved, which to me would mean the leaves, the stems, the whole garland are real. But, I needed to cut it and found that it is partially preserved and partly something else. That said, it looks remarkably like preserved boxwood and I’m quite happy with it.
I'm very happy with my purchase of the Boxwood garland. It was a little pricey, however, it will be used year after year as part of my Christmas decor. In the long run, it will save me from purchasing fresh/live garland every Christmas season.
