These adapters worked as expected to connect the short cable TV hookup in my living room to a longer coax cable that could reach my TV. I used this product because the coax cable in my dorm room had a female end and my coax cable also had a female end. I attached a 15' cable to the adapter and my tv picture is awesome. I have an insignia 32" tv with great sound and picture. Don't listen to the bad reviews, an adaptor is an adaptor. ...see moreof the reviewer's review

This was used to extend a relatively short piece of coaxial cable for our TV. The signal drop was significant in picture quality, which resulted in a fragmented and erratic picture. When this was removed the picture was again crisp and clear. There were no other variables.see moreof the reviewer's review
