About this item
This volume comments on the currency provisions and the “law of money” contained in the general part of the law of obligations in the German Civil Law Code. In addition to considering the drastic changes that came about with the legal introduction of the Euro, all relevant aspects of currency and monetary law are systematically and elaborately explained, including the implementation of the pertinent European directives. Innovative solutions are developed for many questions which are presently under discussion. The commentator scrutinizes the legal features of money also in the law of property and in the course of enforcements of judgements, taking broadly into account international and cross boarder issues. He also fucuses the economic theories (value theories) of money. The explanations are flanked by many practical illustrative examples.
