I love this carrier so much! I just got a kittne and I looked every where for a stylish carrier that can be packed away when I dont need it. I looked at a lot of expensive options -- especially the Wild One Pet Carrier (nordstrom $125). This is the best. 1) it's actually suitable for cats, the wild one is too open. 2) it's super sturdy -- the metal wire structure keeps it fully together. 3) the black color, the beige piping, the straps feel very high quality. 4) it lays flat when i need to store it!

I was so impressed with the specs on this product that I just ordered two of them...for my kitties!! As I'm reading the reviews I only see dogs mentioned. Will this work for transporting my girls back and forth to the vet?? In addition, sometime in the future we'll be moving to a new home and thought this would be safe for them to travel a long distance in the car. I ordered from a place that I can't return to...

We bought this 6 1/2 months ago in anticipation for bringing our Havanese puppy home. When we picked her up to our delight, she was a happy little girl the whole (3 hr. drive) way home. She is 8 months old now (10 1/2 pounds and travels everywhere we go in the Gen7 Commuter. The product is made very well. She does like to chew and scratch on the mesh and it doesn't show signs of damage. I love the east access on both sides and the top. We've been very happy with the Gen7 Commuter. If our girl doesn't outgrow it I'll likely buy another to keep in the other car. We purchaced this because of the crash test ratings and are very happy with the product. If she doesn't outgrow it, I'll probably buy another one for our other car.

I purchased this for my new, 8-week old goldendoodle because of the certification by CPS. Not only does it provide protection for the dog to keep it from flying in the event of a crash, the mesh protects the pet from flying debris, like glass. Although it was crash-tested for up to 20 lbs, , my 6 lb puppy barely fits. She cannot fully stand and she is almost as long as the carrier is wide. To my knowledge she had not been enclosed in such a small place prior to us adopting her. The ride home was a miserable 1 hr. She whined and cried non-stop. I finally took her out and held her after about 30 minutes and she fell asleep. (My husband was driving). I took her to the vet yesterday, a 20 minute drive, and she howled and dug and bit the mesh (no damage observed) both ways There was no calming her (I was driving and alone in the vehicle so I couldn't take her out) I imagine part was the "ride" and part was her restriction (she hates her play yard as well). I am disappointed that she is not able to fit inside properly so that she has to bend her knees to move around and turning is even more difficult because of the narrow dimension front to back. I purchased this prior to her even being born so had no real idea what her size would be, but I should not have purchased this based solely on weight.

This carrier is pure quality. It shows in the construction as well as the design. I know it will keep my new puppy safe in the car. I read many reviews as well as research from the Pet Safety Center before deciding on this carrier.
