Two volumes collect cycles of lectures on sub-Riemannian manifolds that were delivered in Paris and Luminy, France, during the fall of 2014. This first volume contains three cycles. The first cycle explores some topics of geometric measure theory in Carnot groups, among them differential calculus on and within Carnot groups, and sets of finite perimeter and minimal surfaces. The second cycle discusses hypo-elliptic operators and some aspects of analysis and geometry of sub-Riemannian spaces. Among the topics there are fundamental solutions and Yamabe equations, fractional integration in spaces of homogeneous type, the geometric Sobolev embedding and the isoperimetric inequality, and a sub-Riemannian curvature-dimension inequality. The final cycle is on sub-Laplacians and hypo-elliptic operators of totally geodesic Riemannian foliations. It consider such topics as horizontal Laplacians and heat kernels on model spaces, transverse Wiezenböck formulas, and Riemannian foliations and hypo-coercivity.
