Just received this food a few days ago and fed it to my son last night mixed with my breast milk. He made a face and shook his head and spit it out. Then I mixed it with carrot baby food and he reluctantly ate a bite but spit that out too. I'm going to try it again with banana baby food later but I'm sad he doesn't like it.
I purchased this cereal after the gastroenterologist suggested it for my then 4 months old baby, she had very acute reflux, while I did not notice any improvement on the reflux, I saw my baby started napping during the day (she wasn't sleeping at all during the day before the cereal), she also started to sleep more peaceful during the night (doctor said because the full sensation she is getting after the cereal, of course this is his theory, maybe is only my little one getting regular as she is growing, but either way it works for me).
The problem I found with the rice cereal is that after 1 1/2 or 2 weeks of open the cereal it get a rancid smell and it taste like rancid-old food.
At the beginning I thought it was expired but exp. Was 2020, then I bought a second bottle and a third....all had the same issue, since my baby is consuming not so much of the cereal because she is also having the oatmeal (to avoid the constipation the rice alone my cause), so I have to discard the cereal about half bottle.
This cereal is so difficult to find in stores that it would be nice it has a long lasting life after opening (the oatmeal cereal doesn't have this problem).
Hi, I have gotten this for my 18 weeks old before and he loved it, this time around he is throwing it up after every feeding. I am not sure why, but I wanted the company to know perhaps it is the batch of it. I would not say any thing bad about Gerber we use there Sooth formula and before that the Gental. My son as only ever had Gerber products, but I was concerned about the vomiting. Thanks, Melody And Dean

I started my daughter on this rice cereal, I tried organic because I did read rice cereal contains arsenic . I was wondering if anyone knew if this contained any amounts of arsenic. Other than that concern it’s day 2 any my daughter loves it. I also wish it didn’t have a shelf life of 30 days

We understand the concern and appreciate your reaching out. Arsenic is an element naturally in the soil, air and water, and it is possible that small amounts, measured in parts per billion (ppb), may be found in many foods including produce and grains. Knowing this, we have been working with farmers and leading agricultural researchers for years to reduce arsenic to the lowest levels possible. All of our foods meet our safety and quality standards, which are among the strictest in not just the U.S., but the world. If you ever have questions, we can be reached anytime 24/7 at 1-800-255-2164.
I just purchased this cereal for my baby, and was quite surprised when I got home to find that it has soy lecithin added. Why in the world would Gerber add soy, one of the most common allergens these days, to a first food? The point of feeding babies rice cereal and single ingredient foods for the first few months is to keep an eye out for possible reactions in the baby. I won’t be using this cereal for my baby.

Thanks for your review, we 're so sorry to alarm you. Some of our cereals do contain soy lecithin, which can contain small amounts of soy protein. It's always good to check with your doctor to see is your LO can tolerate soy lecithin. If you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-255-2164 anytime.
