The investigations of the anit-cybercrime and terrorism outfit Section 9 and its primary members--android Motoko Kusanagi, cybernetically enhanced Batou, and skilled policeman Togusa--continue in GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX VOLUME SIX. Like the famous Animé films the series is based on, STAND ALONE COMPLEX combines handsome animation, both traditional and computer-generated, to juxtapose an exploration of the philosophical effects of high technology with exciting action sequences. This volume features episodes 21-23 of the series. In them, Section 9 comes under two threats, from a rival special forces unit equipped with a new armored uniform, and from their old nemesis, the cybercriminal Laughing Man.
