Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

I got the large for my just turned 12 year old who is skinny and it fits her perfectly. She got it for Easter and loves it. I did get her the other yellow romper also by cat and jack and it was big on her though so we have to return it. I would think with the same brand the sizing would be the same.

Sizing is way off!

I ordered this for my slender and tall newly 12 year old. I ordered size Large and it did not fit. It was extremely short but fit width wise. Had my daughter's friend try it on, who is in a small/ medium normally, and it did not fit her at all either. When I took it out of the bag I noticed how tiny it looked. My daughter made a comment about it looking like it would fit a toddler and she was not wrong in that assessment. Sizing is way off here. Very pretty besides that though. It's too bad.
