Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Really pretty floral dress

It's buttery soft and my daughter says it's really comfy. It's got a beautiful flowy quality to it. The adjustable straps are a big plus. Really pretty and perfect summer dress, my daughter loves it a lot.

Girls drop waist cat and jack dress

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is 4’5” and 65lbs. I ordered a size medium which is an 8 and it fit her so well. She said the material felt soft and lightweight on her. She said she definitely thinks this dress would be great on a hot day because of how light it is. The details and colors are so beautiful for summer.

Cute and lightweight dress

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My eleven year old daughter is 4 foot 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 75 lbs, and tried on the size medium in this drop waist floral printed dress from Cat & Jack. It fits her perfectly! We would say it fits true to size. I love the print and the pretty colors in the dress. She likes how lightweight it is. Perfect summer dress!

Looks like a nightgown when on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Cat and Jack floral printed dress in size XS for my daughter and even though it fit but a little loose it was not flattering. She wanted to keep it but it looks like a nightgown on her. It seems well made and I like the pattern but the style on a little girl I think is what is making me return it.

My daughter is 11 years old, weighing 75 pounds and I ordered her size large and it is true to size. She usually wear size kids large or size 10/12. The length of the dress on her is at a great length and it is floaty and lightweight!
