Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

I bought my daughter size Large. She is 80lbs and 4'6. Usually all art class fits her true to size. these do run bigger. We purchased end of November and it will definitely fit her through the winter season, February in CA. I will say they are too big to wear in public but perfect for lounging.

Waistband is stitched at the waist to give it a fold over look. Middle schooler loved that. but does fall to low rise because of that feature. Wide leg is perfect and sits at her ankle. She's 5ft. We got a size 10/12.

The waistband is rolled up like it is in the picture and there is a little bit of room if you were to undo the waistband. These are a true sweatpants material. She really liked the washed look of the black Color. She also liked the white leg style and said that is so cool. These are from the brand art class and appear to be well made.
