Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    She just turned 8 years old, is 4 feet tall, 51 pounds and usually a XS or small, she’s in that transition period but leaning more towards small. For shirts she goes for the oversized look. She picked it out, including the size, knows what she likes and does not care that it will cover her gymnastics shorts. I wish the material had some polyester in it but I guess that since it is so big on her if it shrinks it won’t matter.

    The clothes look like rags

    It’s not the item per se, but it’s the people that are packaging your items and shipping them to you. They throw them in the package and they look like rags. I am ashamed to give this as a gift to my grandchild.

    Such a sweet shirt design

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this for my 99th percentile 4 year old, in a size small. She normally wears a 5-6, so a small is equal to a 6-7 and is one size larger than her normal wear. She is swimming in this, which she loves. The sleeves go down to her elbow crease making it the perfect oversized shirt, and the design is so cute! Mom loves that the collar and sleeves are reinforced and well made - this is going to last her through rough four year old play.

    Adorable very oversized tshirt

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tshirt is so cute and definitely oversized. My daughter wears 4/5 and this xs(4/5) is borderline too long so I think it runs a bit large. She loves it and it’s very comfortable. The graphics are cute and trendy. Since it’s 100 cotton I’m hoping it shrinks a little. Either way she’ll get a lot of wear from this.

My 7 year old daughter is wearing a small and it is described as an oversized shirt so it is pretty big on her. Best worn with pants, at least for her, shorts would be covered by the shirt. It was slightly large but that’s how my daughter likes her shirts. So it was a perfect fit for her. She loves a quirky shirt and I thought she’d like it.
