Global Corporate Workplaces : Implementing New Global Workplace Standards in a Local Context (Paperback)
about this item
In recent years, multinational corporations were engaged in the development of standardized global workplace models. For their implementation, it is a decisive question as how new global workplace-standards fit the diverse regional workplace cultures. This topic was pursued in the course of a research project, comparing established workplace models in Germany, USA and Japan against global workplace standards of multinational corporations.
The analysis confirmes the expected differences among local models and on the other hand a predominant mainstream among global corporate models. Conspicuous are the fundamental differences between local models and the global corporate standards. For the implementation of global standards in local context, this implies multiple challenges on cultural, organizational and spatial level. The analysis outcome and findings provide a database, for assessing current projects and pinpointing optimization of concepts and change management measures.
