I really wanted to like this pitcher. However, it seems that it doesn't matter if you use the slots to pour liquid or even the open hole, it was still pour out ridiculously fast. There is an actually a learning curve on tilting it a certain way so that it will come out slower. Each person is my house has spilled liquids on the counter and floor because it came out way too fast. The top comes off occasionally as well.
I used this to store pre-made punch for a party. I liked the gallon size and wide opening. The only issue I have is that the lid is NOT water tight - liquid seeps up through the lid, so I had to be very careful when carrying it.
I came to add two more of this brand of 1-gallon pitchers. To my disappointment, someone at GoodCook thought this pitcher needed a redesign. The former two-option pour top was snug and secure. I could pour liquids with one hand. The redesign has created a top that is not secure nor snug. I picked up the empty pitcher by the lid and it separated from the pitcher. If I was to pour liquids from this pitcher with one hand, all the liquid would be all over. Poorly designed and poorly executed.
