Chromecast is designed to make the most of the apps and entertainment already on your phone. Shows, movies, live TV, YouTube, photos and more. It's all just a tap away from all of your family's devices.

I like the design and concept, but for me, I thought it was rather difficult to use. Casting streaming apps to my TV through Chromecast is very slow, and when I want to fast forward, it's very touchy. Not to mention that I had to control a lot of it through the Google Home app and it's very finicky. Also, my Chromecast disconnects all the time...If you're looking for a good streaming device, I'd say go with Roku or the Amazon Fire Stick...However, I do like the design since it's not as bulky as the Roku or Fire stick. Set up is relatively

Hello, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. When casting to your TV via Chromecast, your Wi-Fi speed and available bandwidth play a vital role. Regarding the disconnection, we're here to help. If you can reach out to us, we can better isolate the issue and help you resolve it. Feel free to reach us here : https://support.google.com/chromecast/contactflow?hl=en
Had trouble installing, but figured I was probably the exception not the norm. But once installed I was not impressed. Not super user friendly, I'm sure there is a learning curve, but I prefer to have a separate remote like the Roku or firestick, don't want to have to use my phone to access.
I did not think I could set this up but basically it set itself up. It prompted me after downloading google home app , on screen of my tv, everything I needed to do down to naming the device and I started streaming after updates were installed and I was so thrilled I did not have to ask for help..
If I could give zero stars I would. This is awful with staying connected to the internet. After half an hour of resetting the router it finally connected to my phone. Then when I tried to connect another device for streaming, it couldn't connect. I just bought this and not even 3 hours of having it I'm ready to return it.
We've had Chromecast for about 4 years in our room, because the main cable box was downstairs and we couldn't access many channels upstairs. We recently ditched cable tv altogether (I highly recommend it!) and got 2 more Chromecast units for downstairs and the guest room. They are easy to use, and provide us with everything we need to watch Netflix or anywhere we want to stream.
My whole house is now "smart" and rivals a fancy Sonos integration
4 out of 5 stars

We were sick of plugging in the HDMI cord from our laptop into our TV, dealing with cords and then having the laptop battery die. We also had major Sonos-envy after visiting a friend's house. But I'm cheap... so, I went ahead and purchased two of these regular Chromecasts plus two Chromecast audios. I now have a fully "smart" house, plus an amazing wireless sound system that rivals Sonos. Here's my setup: Chromecast on my bedroom TV, Chromecast on my living room TV (with audio going through my surround sound speakers), 30-year old Bose wave radio in the dining room, 10-year old Bose sound system in the kitchen with an adapter. Throw on Pandora and BOOM! Party in da house. Want to watch a movie? Done! Want to watch half a movie in the living room and then go finish watching it in bed? Easy! I took one star away because I have an iPhone and sometimes it's glitchy and I have to re-start an app. (One other thing to mention, your phone is more of a remote control for this device. The content doesn't actually stream on your phone and run the battery down, as I initially feared. You can even leave the house with your phone and content will continue to play on the TV.) Glad I chose this over Firestick
