Bad fingerprint scanner and touchscreen

dcsj - 23 days ago, Verified purchaser
This was the most expensive phone I have ever purchased, but was disappointed. Fingerprint scanner failed 80% of the time. This was after updating to Android 13 and the latest patches on Sep 07 2022. The touchscreen also often failed to register taps. Returned for a refund w/in Target's 14-day return policy.

No SD card slot

1 out of 5 stars

Alan - 1 month ago
Being this is not a very old phone there is no SD card slot to provide more memory space. Even the older Galaxy phones have such an option up to 1T. 128G just does not get it for many in this day and age. Since 15 G of that memory will be used up by the phones system and putting any amount of apps into it you will be down to less then 80G. Then if intested in downloading movies you will be without much left to do anything. Also the reveiws are running from 16-20% with unsurmountable problems. I would not touch a item that is less then 4.2 out of 5. I am just glad they have been posted and slightly aghast at many of on-going problems. People care about speed, memory and continuity. Lacking those in the worst way demeans the product itself. I will be looking elsewhere for my next phone.

Downgrade from pixel 3, worst finger print scanner.

I am Pixel 3 user which no longer receives any updates. So purchased Pixel 6. Pros: Camera and related features and big battery. Cons: The screen size is too big in the starting model itself and heavier than Pixel 3. On screen finger print scanner is worst 2 button guestures not available. Android itself used 15Gb vs 5Gb Incase of Pixel 3 No option to choose radio technology manually. Overall I prefer Pixel 3 over Pixel 6 Pixel 6 doesn't have unlimited storage of reduced quality photos also.

I'm happy with the phone. I previously had a Pixel 2xl so waited a long time for a new phone. Camera is good. Battery life is very sufficient. Wish it had come with a USB C to A cable for the car. Other than that, it's a great phone at a decent price.

STill room for a little more work

Google does a decent job with the O/S, and the hardware is less expensive than their competitors at Samsung, but there is still room for improvement. My Pixel 6 has experienced numerous connectivity issues with my bluetooth devices. I've had several instances where i had to restart the phone just to use the phone. Either being unable to accept a call or make a call when the callers could hear me, or me them. This has happened at least 3 or 4 times in the last month of ownership. They still have not fixed the issue of notifications when connected to Bluetooth. If you have a bluetooth device, such as a headset, connected and get a text notification, or an app notification, you will not hear the notification unless you have the earpiece on the headset connected. This is terrible performance. Just because I connect my headset, does not mean I'm wearing it 24/7, and it's annoying to have to turn it off when not using it, just for this reason.

I love this phone. But the front screen fingerprint sensor can be very frustrating. The rear sensor on previous Pixels was far superior.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This phone is outstanding and close to perfect. It’s so fun to use! The battery life has been great. The camera does offer some very nice 4k shots and does allow for a lot of customization. There is a cinema mode that allows for smoother, slow motion effects to give you more dramatic effects in your film. The Google Design Team has placed a good amount of thought into how the phone operates and reacts to touch. The OS is very user friendly and responds to everything with no lag or stutter. Overall, the phone is amazing and really enjoy using it. I couldn’t recommend it more highly and at the price, it is the phone to beat.

Useful Design - Good Battery Life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a full featured smartphone made specifically for the newest version of the Android operating system. It is fast and responsive. The display is bright with excellent clarity. The face of this smartphone is nothing but screen. No buttons. The cameras are high definition and take outstanding photos and videos. The phone itself feels good in the hand. It is smooth with rounded corners and has a thoughtfully designed camera placement. The rear camera spans across the top width of the phone. In a way that allows the unit to sit at a slight incline when placed down on a tabletop. This also prevents it from wobbling when using it on a flat surface. Wireless, wi-fi, and Bluetooth connectivity is strong, fast, and consistent. NFC also works well. The battery life is very good for a smartphone of this caliber. A feature that I like is the fingerprint security. Place one of your fingers or thumbs directly on the screen to unlock the phone. I do have one complaint. The power button and volume controls are on the same side of the phone. I'll get used to it. Overall, I am pleased with this smartphone and would have no problem recommending it to family and friends.
