Q: I can't find the brand that I normally purchase. Is this good for Thai Peanut Chicken?
submitted by MB - 4 years ago
A: Hi there! Yes, Goya Coconut Milk would taste great in Thai Peanut Chicken. This creamy milk is made from the pressing of ripe coconut meat and doesn’t contain gums, thickeners or stabilizers. It is unsweetened and can be added to sweet and savory dishes to add a rich coconut flavor. We recommend to shake the can before use so that the Coconut Fat becomes fully incorporated into the liquid.

Q: I have a recipe that calls for “full fat” canned coconut milk - I’m not finding that anywhere on any brand. What does that mean and would this product classify as that?
submitted by Lynette - 5 years ago
A: If a product is reduced fat, it will tell you in the description or on the label. This is regular coconut milk, meaning it is full fat.

Chunky and watery…. The taste was fine, but the way it looks made it difficult to decide if it was actually edible. Absolutely would not buy this again.

My can's contents were grainy! I thought it would be fine & emulsify on the stove, but it didn't. Luckily I thought to test a small amount when I saw the texture, otherwise dinner would have been ruined.

The milk was grainy and separated and wouldn’t mix together in my soup. I used two cans that both looked that way and it was not nearly as good as my recipes where I use other brands.

This didn't yield coconut rice, it yielded flavorless dry rice. What is the deal?

This milk is spoiled and should be removed from the shelf. I bought it twice last week, and both times the cans were spoiled. I recommend avoiding this brand altogether and trying the organic ones instead.

This might be the nastiest coconut milk I've ever tasted. I made coconut rice and my tounge was instantly coated with a sulfuric chemical taste. I couldn't get the bad tase out of my mouth! I hate being wasteful, but this had to be tossed.

If you plan to make a curry with this then skip. It does not have that full fat thickness. It is very watery.

Quality has gone down over the past few years. Coconut water has more flavor than this! It used to be smooth & creamy, now it doesn’t mix properly even after shaking very well.

This is the worst canned coconut milk I’ve ever used. Super thin, not a lot of flavor. I didn’t get “light” coconut milk, either (but I’ve had light before, and this is not similar). Don’t buy it. Unless you want to eat disappointing food, that is. ANY other brand is better. 2 stars because it’s probably technically made of coconut milk and wasn’t rancid.
Pretty good
