Kids/Toddler measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Don’t have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Standing with feet together and back to a wall. Measure from floor to the top of the head.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Perfect Summer Shorts

I’m actually shocked to see how many poor reviews these have and feel like that may be why they are so limited in colors and sizes now. This will be by two year olds 5th pair - I wish there were still more colors. Sizing has been perfect. There actually is quite a bit of stretch in the waist band and the actual shorts have a built in short and then a more flowy outer short - they are a dupe of a very high end athleisure brand. My daughter loves these / they are lightweight and perfect for warm days outside. We have washed them soooo many times and they’ve held up great.

Waistband too tight

Adorable idea. Waistband is too tight. Going up a size isn't an option because then the rest of the short would be so big. The ratio of flowiness of shorts to tightness of waistband isn't great. I'll keep because they were $8 and my daughter took off the tag but wish the waistband was loser and the shorts were a bit shorter.
