It is a thick felt material which is nice, I was worried it would be thin and flimsy. The best part about it is that after Halloween you can flip it over and then it is just a pumpkin so you can use it for fall decor as well. You can still tell it's a pumpkin under the plate. I will add a sealant spray to this to ensure it's an easier clean up if something does get spilt on it.
