Q: How long does 1 L water stay hot?

A: I've had mine a couple years, I'd say it stays hot for about 30 minutes, but you can just click the button to warm it up again and don't have to wait the full time for it to boil. It's a great pot. I use it almost every day.

A: it doesn't take long... the water boils. you see steam hear the boiling the unit turns off. you pour the hot water. like a normal non whistling kettle.

This is a medium size kettle and it's so cute!! I was hesitant because it wasn't glass but I couldn't find a decent glass kettle(2 of them at the store were used...) I am happy with my purchase. This heats up water just like it states. Esthetically it looks nice and it is very well made. Cleaning can be a bit complicated if you have bigger hands. Overall I love the ease of use and Hamilton Beach in my opinion is always the way to go!

Not only is the filter plastic, (which is the only plastic removable), there is also a silicone material which is unremovable, and if removed the kettle becomes unable to hold water without spilling. I've always been wondering the burnt plastic/silicone smell. The lid is also almost completely plastic. Absolutely unnecessary and hazardous.

This is the best way to heat water--superior to a microwave because microwaves do not heat water evenly, nor do they come to a rolling boil. If you are a tea drinker, you already know that microwaves make disgusting tea--flat with zero aromatic compounds.
