Description

The forces of evil are threatening to overrun Hogwarts castle in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle, a cooperative deck-building game, and it's up to four students to ensure the safety of the school by defeating villains and consolidating their defenses. In the game, players take on the role of a Hogwarts student: Harry, Ron, Hermione or Neville, each with their own personal deck of cards that's used to acquire resources.

By gaining influence, players add more cards to their deck in the form of iconic characters, spells, and magical items. Other cards allow them to regain health or fight against villains, keeping them from gaining power. The villains set back players with their attacks and Dark Arts. Only by working together will players be able to defeat all of the villains, securing the castle from the forces of evil.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, but I was a little nervous about trying this game the first time around because it seemed like a lot to learn, but I'm so glad that I did! This is hands down one of the most fun board games I've ever played, and the cooperative aspect is refreshing compared to most competitive games I've played before. Well done!

If you love Harry Potter, this is the game you want to get! It is a fun deck-building game where you progress through the various boxes - years - at Hogwarts with new and more challenging villains with each box you open. The game does get more difficult as you go along and the replay-ability is outstanding.

As a fan of the wizarding world, I had a lot of fun with this. Played with a full team and instead of hiding our hands, we had them all laid out and worked together to strategize no matter who's turn it was. Lots of fun!

Our family of 4 loves games and loves Harry Potter, so this was a no brainer. It’s complicated enough to keep us engaged, but our 7 year old was able to hang and enjoy it for a while, too. Fun story elements mix with an engaging game play to keep us going back to defeat the villains!
