Tell pesky parasites to ‘bug off’ with Hartz UltraGuard Pro Flea & Tick Prevention for Dogs and Puppies. Appropriate for canines 15-30 lbs, each long lasting, monthly topical treatment with dual Insect Growth Regulators (IGRs) starts killing fleas within 15 minutes. This formula kills fleas, brown dog and deer ticks, flea eggs and flea larvae, and repels mosquitoes before they bite—preventing re-infestations for 1 month. Features the patented and easy-to-use Pro-Glide angled applicator with rounded edges that easily gets through dog’s fur, for gentle on-skin application. Suitable for both long- and short-haired dogs. Formula stays on and doesn’t rub off. Use only on dogs or puppies 5 to 14 pounds, 12 weeks of age and older. Package contains three applications—a three-month supply. Directions: Remove one applicator tube from package and hold in an upright position away from your face. Twist dispensing tip clockwise about 1/2 turn while pushing down to break the tube's seal. Do not remove the dispensing tip. Position the tip of the tube at the base of the pet's back between the shoulder blades and squeeze out the entire contents of the tube to form a stripe as you move from the shoulder blades along the back to the base of the tail. The treated area may appear oily after application. Repeat every month. Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitated, aged or medicated pets. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amount of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately.

I have 2 dogs, a small dachshund and a aussie shepard mix. This works great on my dachshund i love it. But on my shepard mix she only has medium fur if even and this wont get down to her back legs so ive still seen fles there. But otherwise i still buy it. i tried advantix and so many expensive ones , they dont work as good not worth the money.

You want a flea infestation? This is the product for your dog. My husband thought it would be best to save money but we spent more trying to get rid of the fleas in our house.

As with almost everything at Target, it works just as well as versions costing much more. Target does a great job of vetting everything they sell. Kudos to the Target buyers!!

I switched from my vet’s expensive prescription flea & tick meds to Hartz Treatment Drops. It’s easy to apply and just as effective as the prescription. I have not seen one flea on my dog since switching. I live in Saint Louis, Missouri where the summers are hot and very humid.

Good, but very greasy

It’s been 36 hours since I applied this to my dogs. Their fur is extremely greasy still. I’m not sure the effectiveness of this yet but so far so good. I am going to bathe them tomorrow which will be 48 hours after treatment. Other than the greasy fur, they did not have any reaction to this.

Cheap and Effective

I will preface this with we do not live in the countryside where fleas and ticks are more prevalent, but we do get enough wildlife and have enough wooded areas where they can be found. We also have beagles and take them on hikes and to dog parks. They are a nose on four legs and like to find anything that is gross. This flea and tick med is the best we have ever used. It has served us well for many years and it's affordable. We have used higher end brands that proved to be ineffective. One brand even gave one of our dogs a horrible allergic reaction. Expensive doesn't mean better. We will stick with Hartz.

Very effective monthly topical for long-hair breeds

Good success used monthly on Shelties & Great Pyrenees. Part hair down dog’s spine behind head to ensue full contact w/ skin. Put several drops on belly skin, too. Be consistent w/ monthly treatments. More economical than oral treatment. Works for us in a rural ranch setup…no fleas or ticks.
