This product is available at other stores online, but I had read terrible stories about it being delivered damaged. Fed Ex delivered mine and it was in good shape, but I do recommend checking it before delivery guy leaves. I've put together a lot of furniture before and this (as well as the coordinating bookshelf) was very easy to put together. One person can do almost everything. You need a second person to just to maneuver pieces and flip over. Maybe 30 minutes to put together. While it's Veneer I think it looks nicer than expected. It's perfect for the basement where my teenagers hang out. I think it could be nice in a living room as well.
Couple things: the stand is beautiful. It looks very high quality and I'm very, very happy with it. It is shorter than I expected, but since I neglected to check the dimensions myself that is on me. Even as low as it is I still love it. I do have one warning--THE SMELL. Whatever is applied to this product (I'm assuming some sort of preserving agent) is overwhelming. I highly, highly, suggest letting it air out outside for 2 days before settling it in your home. The stand was put together for me around noon and when I arrived home at 7pm my house smelled toxic. It was 23 degrees outside but I opened all the windows and doors and turned on fans to get the air moving OUT. The next day I took the stand outside to sit (about 24 hours), and it helped dramatically. I can still smell it now (it's been 4 days total) but it's getting weaker by the day. It's beautiful, but smelly (at first).
Pay close attention to detail when assembling so you don't have to take it apart and start over (like we did twice-ugh!). Easier with 2 people. Only problem: one small piece of wood glued and nailed as a brace was about 1/2" off--making it impossible to finish assembly. We were able to chip away enough to make it fit and not compromise stability. This stand looks really nice and quality is great for the price!
The drawer track was broken (screws stripped) when we got it. I was able to secure it by adding a little wood glue and moving the screws... functional now. Assembly was slightly confusing... if holes don't line up try moving pieces around... worked for me... just took some time.
