Healthy Choice Zero Frozen Tomato Basil Chicken - 9.5oz

It's crazy that I think this is one of the best frozen meals ever yet some people gave it 1 star. I'd say try it for yourself. Lots of food, veggies, flavor. I get it every week.

I have eating this twice and love it. Flavor is gratifying and I like the bowl. If people don’t like the bowl they can pour in a different bowl to eat out of.

The flavors were okay in this bowl, but the texture was not. Like so many others have mentioned, the chicken seemed to be mostly cartilage, or at the very least extremely dry. (I've never had someone point out what chicken cartilage tastes like in my meal, but it was definitely not chicken breast) The pasta was overcooked and tough and bonewhite and crunchy. The asparagus was mainly stems, but all vegetables were cooked well. The meal would most likely be much better if they switched out the pasta, or laid the sauce in a brick at the bottom with the pasta inside it, so that there's liquid to evenly cook the pasta and things above it to keep the moisture in. While the meal was cheap (like all frozen meals) it was disappointing. Since it is safe for dogs, I just fed the remaining half to her (She didn't mind the texture) and made another meal.

I’ve tried quite a few lower carb/healthy frozen meals and they’re all kind of bland and FELT like you’re eating a healthy meal. This one DID NOT! It was so flavorful and satisfying. It even filled me, which I wasn’t expecting. I am absolutely going to buy more to have on hand for a quick lunch

In my opinion this is the best one out of the Zero bowls. So good

Really enjoyed this one! Only issue is that sometimes the noodles get hard as they cook. But the flavor and sauce make up for that.

I really enjoyed it, flavor was quite nice for a quick meal but what I didn't like was eating out of a cardboard bowl. It totally ruined it for me. I probably will never purchased another which is sad cause it was flavorful.

I’ve always stayed awakes from frozen meals like this but I must say these blew me away. Contrary to what everyone else is saying I microwaved as directed and this bowl comes out perfect everytime! Amazing robust flavors and surprisingly satisfying! And I mean real heartfelt satisfying. Not like eating a double quarter pounder meal and you feel like you’re gonna die.

Bought this tonight hopeful that I was finding a low carb dish that would satisfy my pasta craving. Cooked 5 minutes as instructed, more than half of the pasta was still very white and uncooked. Added small amount of water and cooked an additional 2 minutes. Still had some white, uncooked pasta and those that had "cooked" were still hard and not really edible.

I just purchased thus meal two days ago. The noodles were white and not cooked throughly. The asparagus was mostly stems, two pieces of the chicken that I had were mostly cartilage and a skin off a piece of a tomatoe got stuck on the roof of my mouth. There was something so spicy about this meal as well. I couldn't finish it, I couldn't force one more bite and I was hungry. I had a different meal last night and the chicken was full of cartilage as well. I cant help but wonder why you cheapened the quality of your ingredients...you did have good products, can no longer say that now!

I really enjoyed this meal! There was no issue with the pasta and all vegetables and chicken that was pictured on the outside of the box were there. Mind you, the bowl wasn’t as full as the picture depicts—if it had been, it would’ve been a 14oz bowl vice 9.5oz—but everything was tender and very flavorful. I don’t know what the other reviewers got in their bowls, but mine was perfect.

I’ve eaten many of your meals for years. I saw this as something different so I gave it a try. Cooked as directed took plastic off and thought it had plastic straws in it but it was the pasta. I did eat some of the meal but couldn’t stomach the look of the pasta that I picked out. I’m going to skip the low carb style.

I bought this at the supermarket to try along with my usual rotation of Healthy Choice frozen meals (Cafe Steamers and Simply Steamers) which are generally very good and that I use for a work lunch quite often. This item had an appealing look and the plant fiber bowl made it interesting as a plastic alternative. However, the primary issue was glaringly apparent once I pulled it out of the microwave and peeled back the plastic cover. Many of the penne pasta pieces were bright white and hard on the top and sides that were not in direct contact with the other vegetables with sauce. It made me question if the bowl had gone bad until I read reviews from other users that they had the same experience. It seems that for this item the technology just isn't there yet to get rid of the plastic. This should never have been launched given this issue.

this was not great. i typically love all vegetables but these ones tasted weird and don’t work well with the sauce. i will not buy again. a better choice from this brand is the chicken marina power bowl!

It tastes awful and the pasta didn’t cook through.

Just tried this product for dinner last night and found it extremely disappointing. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was the freezer burn on the past, not good. I moved past this misstep and prepared the dish as recommended. Although everything in the tray seemed to be placed all to one sided, I hoped it would result in a good outcome. NOT!! The pasta was hard as a rock from the pieces not being parboiled or covered in sauce for protection. And the sauce was lacking in sufficient quantity to be useful. Overall this dish was a waste of time and money.

I bought this bowl yesterday, because it sounded good. I opened it and all I saw was veggies, no pasta or chicken. Thought maybe it’s under all the sauce. So, I cooked it, and while stirring the veggies, it was confirmed that there was in fact, no pasta of chicken. Very disappointed.

Bought this tonight for dinner. I am a THM’er and this was a great choice for quick, ‘mostly’ on plan option. The flavor was great! This microwave meal has delicious, intense flavors; this hit the spot. Excellent flavor- Excellent portion My only negative comment would be- I dislike these plant based bowls.

Although I found your Tomato Basil Chicken to be average in taste there were other problems. The cardboard bowl, I am sure, is cost effective but it also soaks up the juices. That was very disappointing and cheapened the meal. The second problem was the microwave directions. With this particular meal the directions should read to open and stir halfway through because any pasta on top just dries out and turns crunchy. The pasta needs to be mixed with the juice while cooking to prevent that problem.

Delicious lower carb option! I’m pleasantly surprised and glad I didn’t listen to reviews. It reminds me of the frozen Indian veggie blend that Target sells, but with chicken. I added Parmesan to the top. I’m stocking up on this one. Price could be lower though.
