Holiday Mini Village Gingerbread Kit - 28oz - Favorite Day™

Fun little mini gingerbread houses. Good icing, candy. We did not eat it though. Perfect for a family night where everyone can decorate their own house.

So fun. The little house were tedious. But the icing actually worked and stuck great

First off, I read the reviews, and I still purchased this. I was determined to be the one to get this right! It is frustrating that each house comes on one slab, and breaking these apart is where people go wrong. At first I tried using a knife to get a clean break, and that resulted in the pieces breaking. I decided to break them the opposite way, keep your fingers placed at the bottom of the slab, and break them towards you. It should snap right off. Also, the edges were rough, so I cleaned them up and made them as flat as I could. Instead of using icing, to put the houses together, I hot glued the houses the night before. Then I had the kids put icing in the cracks to make sure the houses really stayed together. I made additional icing, since the icing you get comes in one bag, and no one wanted to share, I highly recommend following the Sweetopia icing recipe, I just halved the recipe, and it was the perfect amount. I think if they go back and reimagine this kit, it could really be amazing, hopefully they’ll take my review into consideration.

Came shattered. And the pieces were hard to break apart without ruining them. The icing bag broke when we were using it. Don’t recommend.

Absolutely awful! Not only did the pieces completely shatter when you try to break them apart (each house comes in one piece that must be broken into sides), but there is not nearly enough icing to hold it all together. All it did was make us feel like a total Scrooge. Don’t waste your money.

It only came with one piping bag but there’s four houses. My son cried the whole time because he had to wait his turn. He is 2. I don’t know why they would give four houses with one bag and they also give you the smallest amount of of candy it wasn’t even enough for all houses

This is an awful kit. Cookies came broken and the ones that were not broken, decided to break when we snapped the pieces off. The frosting bag also broke. Don’t waste your money.

Horrible! The entire cookie was broke and we were unable to decorate. My kids were extremely disappointed. A complete waste of money.

Assembling any gingerbread house with the provided icing is tricky and time consuming. We bought several of these for kids Christmas party. We pre-glued them with hot glue the day prior and it worked great. We used knives to score/cut them and only had one panel break. Would recommend hot glueing so the kids can enjoy the decorating process. They can go over the seams with icing to disguise the glue. We also made extra royal icing ourselves, so there was plenty for everyone, and had more fun candies. Just used the kit for the houses. Decent option if you need a lot of gingerbread houses for a lot of kiddos.

Nothing bad to say! This was a lot of fun and we didn’t even use all the icing after putting together and decorating!

I bought this for our friendsmas. Usually we would get the bigger ones and the kids will just share and decorate a couple of those houses, but i found these and decided to get it instead. It was a huge hit!!!! the kids loved that they are able to decorate their own little ginger bread house and parents ofcourse loved it because no kids cried over not being able to decorate their part.

We have an annual competition at home with this kit and have an absolute blast! Please keep selling these. Small and adorable

Love this kit for our 4 kids. We try to find this kit each year so that each child can decorate one house and it’s perfect. We just create extra cardboard bases so we have one for each child and this is a perfect set. The gingerbread broke apart this year when breaking the seams but my husband just got glued them back together and all was well.

Extremely disappointed in this gingerbread kit. It is absolutely impossible to not break the pieces when you are taking apart pieces. I’m not sure why these pieces were not sent in the kit already cut into the pieces you needed to avoid this issue. Terrible design. Save your money and stay away!! Worst gingerbread kit ever!!!

Terrible. Frustrating and the kids were unhappy trying to create these houses. Kept falling apart. Wouldn’t dry properly

Cheap and not well designed. Both icing packets leaked because they were not properly sealed. Gingerbread pieces are way too thick and not symmetrical. House with addition improperly designed because both roofs were same length when one needed to be shorter. Icing is hard to spread and we had to mostly use our fingers due to the holes created in the icing packets.

The individual houses are smaller than expected. Building the houses takes time, decorating them even longer. It’s a little bit chaotic, never turns out quite as expected, but it’s always so much fun. A must have for Christmas time!

Overall, I really liked this kit & loved the fact that you had 4 mini houses that 4 different people to work on individually especially if you dont want to do a regular size one. Like so many other reviews, it was difficult getting the pieces apart. I tried using a knife on thr first place slightly damaged a "wall." But, here's a trick I used to get all the pieces apart as clean as possible (for adults only). Take one "house block" & put it in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds to get it slightly heated up, but be careful, because it may be a bit hot to handle in some places & then w/ a little bit of strength but not too much, I was able to break down each piece pretty clean. I ended up taking the "broken" house, but everything still came out beautifully. Another tip is to not use the icing in the box & purchase a tube of the super strong icing because it definitely makes a huge difference. I don't know who makes these kits, but hopefully they rethink the instructions for breaking apart the pieces because it doesn't work at all. If I decide not to make gingerbread from scratch next year, I will definitely be buying this kit & using my little trick.

Difficult to assemble, unclear instructions, pictures on front do not match those on back. Hate that I wasted money and time on this.
