And in Minnesota, Target was born - with the revolutionary idea to celebrate design for all. Project 62 embodies this legacy with a collection of modern pieces made for everyday living.
We bought six of these chairs for our dining room table. I love the design and they were simple to assemble, but after about a year they started to fall apart. The wood plugs used to hide the screws on the legs all fell out, which was not a big deal, but then the bolts inside the fabric seat/back became loose. Since these are inside the upholstery there is no way to tighten them. I finally had to cut away the fabric on the bottom of the seats to tighten those bolts. I also tried removing the staples and pulling the fabric off of one chair back to tighten those, which took a very long time and was not easy. Now we have two chairs that we are still able to use while all the others are useless. Super disappointed in the quality of these items.
I bought this to use as an office chair since I am now working from home. Once it’s over I can transition it to my living room. It’s comfortable and easy to put together. The only issue I had was one hole was drilled a little off so getting the screw in was very challenging. Otherwise this is an easy 15 minute set up.
This chair is comfortable but the seat depth isn't great for anyone over 5'5. Easy enough to put together; do yourself a favor and use a hex bit with a drill vs turning by hand. It will save you a ton of time. The chair feels solid and looks great. I saw a similar one that West Elm for a lot more money. Note that the fabric has stripes that only show in very bright light. You can see them in the second photo I posted. Shipping by FedEx was very fast, 2 days. It will take me a month to get rid of all of the packaging, however. Far too much to recycle or toss at once. The boxes are huge and mostly filled with styrofoam. ☹️
These were easy enough to assemble. There are no defects with our chairs and they are beautiful. Within just a couple days, the chairs started to wobble, indicating to me that they need their screws tightened. However, with the wood plugs that are placed over the screws during assembly, I can't tighten the screws without damaging the chair.
Ordered 8 of these chairs for my dining room table. One came as the wrong shade of grey, very light, not the charcoal I ordered, and two came with holes drilled in the wrong spot to put it together. Other ones were fine.
I have had this chair for a little over 6 months. At first the chair was great, I use it as a desk chair so I am frequently sitting on it and moving it. After about 6 months the screws have began to become loose and every other day now I am CONSTANTLY having to tighten them. Some of them even fall out just from lifting or moving the chair. Its a comfortable and good looking chair but there are definitely better alternatives in the same price range. Conversely, maybe I was sent a defective unit because we have 2 of these chairs at the large desk and the other one seems to be holding up better.
