Hot Wheels Rocket League Rivals RC Set

I bought one set over the holidays just for the kids to have something I thought might be fun to play. Didn't think much of it till game play. assembling the game takes 5-10 minutes and the cars charge in 20 minutes, so charge the cars right away. Tho the cars started out driving slow and pulled to one side like a bad alignment, once they warmed up they were fine. From game play to sound effects, I was so impressed, mostly by the thought of the games potential that I bout one more to explore. Now I have 6 sets for a total of 12 cars. I only wish the cars can be purchased seperatly . Looking forward to the entire collection of cars for this awsome game set. Yes, a youngsters toy, but with a few tweaks to the arena, Game night has a different meaning. Over all I am extra pleased!

Opened it for my kids on Christmas morning and spent more time building arena than playing it. One of the cars chewed up its wheel while moving and now its useless. Can't find new wheels so I guess I'll be sending it back. Fun while it worked

My kids love this game. Unfortunately one of the cars broke already. We can't find replacement cars!

I received a free sample in exchange for my unbiased review. My 9 year old boy received this toy and was very excited to get started with it! The concept of this toy is new and fresh. With three boys, we were excited to have something new and different. The toy comes with a mat, that folds up and stores easily, 2 cars (batteries are included :) and two goal boxes... think soccer goals. Two players maneuver their cars to push the big plastic ball into their goal to earn a point. The set up took some time so kids have to be patient! The arena walls must be pushed together with some force. You also need 2 devices with IOS 10 RQD (old phones/I PADs/etc.) will not be able to work with this. We ended up using our smart phones, but that meant while the boys played both my husband and I had to be home and not needing our phones. I guess we need to update the kid's technology! My 9 and 11 year old really enjoyed the game, the competition, and learning to maneuver the cars. I highly recommend this toy! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Even when he was not allowed to play with the iPad we let him use it to play the game. Best of both worlds! Very much like that the cars are racing the ball. Good interactive game with sibilings or with the parent. Super fun for adults too!! Beautiful colors on the toy. Well made. Not too big to set it up in the living room and leave it there. This game is tons of fun and I liked everything about it. I liked how the cars can be controlled by using your IPHONE. The cars have great mobility and can move backwards forwards and right to left. I really love when someone makes a score and then the car spins around. And after you score you are directed to go back to the start position just like a real game of soccer. After a week our kids are still having a great time playing with this! Our ten year old son had this set up and ready to play in about 20 minutes. The instructions were easy for him to figure out and of course he was able to find the app right away! I also downloaded the app to my phone to play him and we were both having a good time. The cars are fairly easy to control it's not precise turning but in a way it seems to make the game more fair. I found myself wanting to beat him as much as he wanted to beat me. It would be nice if the ball itself had a sensor inside of it to keep the scoring more accurate. When the cars go into the goal it seems like that triggers a score too. Perhaps with future updates they might upgrade to a joystick type control for the cars as opposed to the more tank style driving of forward and back with left and right controls. We first had this set up in our son's room on carpet but after the first few games we realized we should put this on a hard surface instead for a smoother drive. Our twelve year old daughter joined in on the fun and the sibling rivalry was in full force. In a perfect world we would be able to get the tablet or mobile phone out of the kid's hands, but for this it is needed to control the cars. We've had this for about a week now. It was very easy to set up and put away after using it. The kids only took about 5 mins to get used to the controls on the phone, but once they did they had a blast with it! The cars are very fast and responsive to the controllers. I thought it would be more for my 6 year old but my 16,14,12 and 10 year old were all playing against each other and loved it. It's a great family game, they were all cheering each other on, it was fun to watch them play! It is a larger size mat so if you have a small area it might be kind of hard to use, we had this problem trying to set it up in the bedroom but it fit fine in the living room. The product is great - My daughter liked that you can drive around the car from the ipad - she said, "Its like the screen coming to life and really fun to play with friends." It keeps your interest for a really long time - it was hard to get her to stop. The only problem is that when the car goes in the goal it counts it as points from the sensor. That gets frustrating.
