Q: I just need a laptop to store pictures and finances/budget. Ability to search internet when needed and quickly. No gaming will be done. Will this have the capability to do so?

Q: new to computers.....what is S mode?
A: Thank you for the question. Windows S mode is a version of Windows 10 or Windows 11 that's streamlined for security and performance, while providing a familiar Windows experience. To increase security, it allows only apps from the Microsoft Store, and requires Microsoft Edge for safe browsing.

Q: Is this a good computer for a college student for 4 years?
A: Please know that you can switch out of S Mode so you can download any non-Windows store programs.

Because this computer is running Windows in "S Mode" it can only download and run apps that are in the Windows Store. If you need any apps for your courses, they'll need to be in the Windows Store. If not, Then unfortunately it wouldn't be a good choice.

A: Hi Jackie, thank you for the question. Yes, the 15-dy2005tg comes with HP's standard one year warranty for parts and labor. Additionally, you'll receive HP Support for 90 days following purchase, just to be sure you're up and running as you should be.

A: Because this computer is running in "S mode" it won't allow you to install any apps that aren't from the Microsoft Store.

Q: Can this computer download music and photos and is there enough storage for that

While you can download music and photos no problems with this laptop, it would be best to get a USB Harddrive to store them as 256 GB is not alot of storage.
