Description
What color comes to your mind when we say “apple”? Hues and Cues is a vibrant game of colorful communication, where players must make connections to colors with word clues. With only one and two-word cues, everyone must try and get others to guess one specific hue from the 480 colors on the board. The closer the guesses are to the target, the more points you earn. The one with the most points after several rounds wins! And since everyone understands and imagines colors differently, this party game tends to get super interesting. So don't miss out on all the fun!

At the beginning of the game it is alot of fun. It is a game that challenges your thought process and has you questioning yourself throughout the entirety of the game. However, after a while the game starts to become monotonous. If you are playing with a large group of friends, and even having people paired up it is the best since you can deliberate with your partner. Overall, the game is a fun thing to experience but is not going to be a game night regular.

Cards and Board Don't Match
2 out of 5 stars
Would recommend
c_willie - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
This is a really fun game, but like so many others have said, the colored squares on the cards do not match the colored squares on the board. It makes the game essentially impossible to play unless the person giving the clues bases their clues off the color on the board that everyone else sees. But then the problem is that the other players can see where you’re looking, or at least the vicinity, so it’s easier to guess the color. This seems like a pretty critical flaw to me. I don’t know how it passed quality control checks and made it onto store shelves.

Card Colors Don't Match Board Colors
2 out of 5 stars

Person - 3 months ago
The game has a really fun a cool concept. It is easy to understand, but the hardest part is that the colors on the cards do not match the position they are at on the board. This makes it so it is very hard to describe the color correctly without having to give away the position of the color by where your eyes are pointing because you’ll have to look at the board to see the true color.

This game is extremely easy to learn, and I believe the more you play it the more fun it will get. It’s challenging at first to come up with different clues for different shades of the same color, but the more you play the more creative you become. So fun for all ages!!

Unexpectedly challenging, and very fun! This game is simple to learn. My boyfriend and I picked up this game as we kept seeing it pop on on social media. We thought guessing a color would be so easy, but we were wrong! The first few rounds brought so much laughter, as we realized some of our clues weren’t as helpful as we thought. By round three we finally found useful hints and began scoring. This game is for 3-10 players, but we just for fun. This game is unique and is a new favorite of ours for parties!

This is a great game! It is easy to learn, yet challenging, and has a extra level of strategy to it once you get the hang of it. Only critique is that the “Cue-giver” role can be challenging and take too long to stay engaged. If you had a 30 or 60 second timer handy, it would be worth using to keep up the pace of play.

Fun concept, but card colors don’t always match the colors on the board which is really frustrating. I wish I could return it.
